The bookkeeper looked puzzled, then laughed. "I haven't heard coins called metal in a while." The bookkeeper said as he laughed. Vaeri looked confused but left him to it. She heard Kiera snicker but tried to stay silent. "Now that you've had your fun, what's this burned book for?" Vaeri said. "I don't think so. You need to chill. We must discuss the cost. It will either be 23 bronze coins, 13 silver coins, or 3 gold coins." The bookkeeper said smugly. Kiera looked offended, but Vaeri gushed her with a glare. "Very well. How can I earn these coins of yours?" Vaeri said. The bookkeeper and Kiera both looked puzzled. "You don't have any at all?!" Kiera and the bookkeeper said surprised. They had never met someone who had no coins before. "No. Again, in my village, we traded for things, not gave them pieces of metal. We used metal to make our houses and-" Vaeri stopped suddenly remembering the sword the librarian used to stab the orc. "Wait. What village did you come from?" The bookkeeper asked. Sure he knew something, Vaeri pointed to the south. "I came from Rage village to the south. Why?" Vaeri said. The bookkeeper thought for a moment, then looked at Vaeri. "In exchange for knowledge about your village, I will give you this book. Deal?" The bookkeeper asked. Vaeri looked at him strangely. 'What could someone like him need to know about Rage?'. "Sure. Just give me the book so I can learn about this power." Vaeri said finally. "Good. Here you go." The bookkeeper said creepily. Hesitantly, Vaerit took the book and began telling the bookkeeper about her village.
