[Melody grew up without any knowledge of her extended family or Atlantica, except for the stories that Ariel told her. However, she always told Melody that they were fairytales. Melody's first word was papa, she was quick to sit up by herself, to stand up, and eventually walk on her own. She became best friends with Belle's and Adam's daughter, Brielle, with Pocahontas' and John Smith's children, Aleshanee and Ketchee, and Nakoma's and Thomas' son, Huritt. She also became best friends with the other princesses and princes. Serena and Favian, the children of Snow White and Ferdinand, Hope and William, Cinderella's and Henri's kids, Adeline and Aiden, Aurora's and Phillip's children, Jasmine's and Aladdin's son, Ali, Mulan's and Shang's children, Mei-Xing and Ping, Nalani, Tiana's and Naveen's daughter, Alina, and Andrei, the children of Anastasia and Dimitri, and her cousins, Therimachus, Deicoon, and Creontiades, Hercules' and Megara's boys. She was also best friends with Callie and Braden, Merida's and Ryan Macintosh's children, Moana's and Keahi's children, Kailani and Kai, Anna's and Kristoff's children, Skye and Aindreas, Mikkel, Elsa's and Jack's son, and Cora and Zephyr, Esmeralda's and Phoebus' children. Melody had gotten Ariel's beautiful voice, her curiosity, her aquapathy, her thermoendurance, her superhuman durability, and her enhanced vision, which Melody kept as a human, unlike Ariel. She was well-behaved, headstrong, and daring just like her father, and was great at dancing just like her father and mother. She grew up in a household full of love and was taught how to be a proper princess. How to sit, eat, drink, stand, and walk. She learned Italian, English, Latin, mathematics, science, history, and geography. She learned how to play the flute, like her father, and harp, piano, guitar, and bongos like her mother, but she also learned how to handle a sword, bow and arrows, a crossbow, a spear, and self-defense thanks to her father. She also learned how to ride horses, cook, bake, sew, mend, and clean like her mother. Both Ariel and Eric agreed to teach her to swim in a pool, but only for emergencies. Secretly, when Melody was a little older, she would sneak out of the castle through the gate of the wall to go swim in the ocean, and because of her background, she was a skilled swimmer despite her age and the fact that she had never been out to the ocean. Huritt: Let's settle this the right way
