A Little Mermaid Love Story

Chapter 16

The next dawn
[Ariel and Eric immediately notify Triton, Attina, her husband, and Triton sends parties to go in search of Melody. Fish, mammals, merpeople, guards, Ariel's other sisters, husbands, and their children]
{With Melody}

Morgana: I've got her in the palm of my hand

{On land with Ariel and Eric on their ship}
Ariel: Oh Attina, I'm so worried
Attina: Don't worry, Ariel, we've got search parties all over the ocean. Daddy and I are joining them as well
Eric: Ariel, you should go with them
Ariel: But Eric-
Eric: I need to stay here and keep leading the search on land but you know the ocean and our baby girl
Attina: Ariel, you know how dangerous Ursula was and Morgana is no different
Ariel: I know, but Eric is right, Attina. I should have known that I wouldn't have been able to keep Melody away from the sea for a long time. It's a part of who she is and the sea is also a part of me. I need to go
(Eric and Ariel share a loving kiss wrapped in each other's arms)
Eric: Bring both of yourselves home to me safely
Ariel: I promise you that we will return home safely
[Eric and Ariel pull away and Eric helps Ariel up on the railing. Attina takes the trident and transforms Ariel back into a mermaid. She jumps into the sea and she and Attina head underwater]
{With Melody}
[Morgana then fed Melody lies about how an old king had stolen her trident and she needed Melody to go to Atlantica to bring it back. Not knowing that Morgana was lying, she agreed, and so Morgana gave her a map, and Melody took it. On her way, Melody befriended a walrus and a penguin who agreed to take her to Atlantica. Ariel had reunited with an older Flounder, she met his kids and wife, and he agreed to help Ariel look for Melody]
{With Melody in Atlantica}
*Pretend there were two thrones and Pretend that the shrimp said Your Highness instead of King Triton*

(Before she can answer, Dash takes her away and into the palace)
Blonde Merboy: What's a penguin doing all the way out here?
Black-haired Merboy: Heck if I know
(The three keep on playing)
{With Melody}
[Melody saw Triton and thought that he might not be so bad since he looked sad, but then saw him getting angry when the servants started to place everything for lunch. He left as soon as a guard announced to him that his daughter had arrived. Melody removed the trident but dropped her necklace, and when she heard voices coming; she swam away with her new friends. Ariel and King Triton figured out that Morgana had been the cause of all of this and he sent out more guards to find Morgana. Ariel and Flounder followed the manta rays quietly and secretly because Ariel had recognized them]
{In Iceland}
[Ariel sends Scuttle for help with Triton and Eric while she and Flounder go find Melody and bring her home safe and sound with the trident. Scuttle had notified Triton and he started to make his way to Iceland. Scuttle then flew to find Eric]
{With Eric}
(Scuttle started squawking at him)
Eric: Scuttle, what is it, boy?
Scuttle: It's Melody, she's in Iceland
Eric: Iceland? What is she doing in Iceland?
Scuttle: It's Morgana's lair
Eric: Morgana, that fucking, filthy, disgusting, lowlife, sea witch
Scuttle: Ariel and Flounder are already up there
Eric: Then let's go
Grimbsy: Eric, he's just squawking, are you ok?
Eric: I'll tell you later, Grimbsy, let's go, men
(Grimbsy gets off and the ship takes off)
{With Melody}
[Melody saw Ariel arrive as a mermaid and felt shocked once again at the revelation, but she felt even more betrayed. Ariel and Morgana were both trying to convince Melody to hand over the trident to each one of them, but all Melody felt in her heart was sadness that her mother had lied to her]
Ariel: I was trying to protect you
Melody: By fencing me in? You knew how much I loved the ocean
(Ariel swims to her and tries to hug her)
Ariel: Sweetheart, if there was one decision that I redo, I-
Melody: It's too late, mom
(She swims over to Morgana and hands her the trident)
Ariel: Don't Melody
[Morgana takes the trident, lets out an evil laugh, grabs Ariel, and traps her in one of her tentacles. Melody reaches out to her mom, but Morgana pulls Ariel out of reach and points the trident at Melody]
Morgana: Your mother was only trying to protect you from me. She did it out of yuck, love, barf. Princess Melody has been a very misbehaved princess, stealing from her own aunt, uncle, and grandfather
Melody: M-My, wh-what?
Morgana: Queen Attina and King Keinn, rulers of Atlantica, commander and chiefs of all of the oceans, and former King Triton. At least up until now before a young and stupid kid stole from them
(She cackles)
Melody: You tricked me, you liar
Morgana: I am not to blame, blame yourself, foolish girl. Let me ask you, Melody, was this your dream? Is being a mermaid everything you ever wanted? Was it worth it?
(Melody looks down and tears up letting her tears run down her cheeks. Morgana wraps one of her tentacles around her and throws Melody into an ice cave)
Ariel/Flounder: Melody!
(Flounder swims in with her)
Ariel: Don't you lay a finger on my daughter you fucking and manipulative bitch
Morgana: Oh ho ho, using profanity now are we? I'm not sure that's a pretty language for a queen much less for your daughter's ears
[Morgana went up to Melody and with the trident, she covered the ice cave and left with Ariel still in her grasp. Eric arrives with his crew, Triton, Queen Attina, and King Keinn. Morgana sinks Eric's ship, but they all get out safely. Eric goes to Ariel's rescue with his sword raised]
Eric: Return my queen to me! What have you done to our daughter?!
Morgana: You're more than free to join your little girl!
[Morgana's manta rays wrap their tails around his ankles and sink him under the ice. Scuttle distracts Morgana by pulling on her hair while Sebastian goes after Eric. Ariel is able to escape and goes under the ice to rescue Eric. Sebastian sets Eric free and Ariel takes him to shore]
{With Tip and Dash}
(They find the courage in themselves and decide to go and help their new friend)

Melody: Daddy
Ariel: He's alright, sweetheart, he's going to be ok, we all are
[Morgana makes everyone with fins bow down to her and makes shards of stone into a throne high up in the air. Melody runs towards the throne made of stone, climbs up, and takes away the trident from her. However, Morgana wraps her tentacle around her ankle pulling her closer to her]
Melody: Aunty, I think this belongs to you
(She throws the trident to Attina and she catches it with one hand raised above her head)
Morgana: No!!!
(She pushes her aside and Melody falls but Dash catches her on his belly)
Attina: You will never threaten my family or our kingdoms ever again! This is your end, Morgana!
[She points the trident at Morgana and sends a blast to her trapping Morgana in a block of ice that falls to the deepest trench of the ocean]
Eric: Melody
(He stands up with Ariel's help)
Ariel: Be careful, you're still weak
Eric: Don't worry, my love
(He goes to get Melody, then carries her in his arms, and walks back to Ariel)
Melody: Daddy
Eric: Melody, I was terrified thinking that we had lost you
(He hands her over to Ariel and Melody and her embrace)
Melody: Mommy, I'm so sorry
Ariel: Oh no, sweet girl, we're sorry, we should have told you the truth
(She caressed Melody's cheeks and dried her tears)
Melody: I didn't mean to hurt anyone, I hoped that I would have been a better mermaid than a girl
Ariel: Sweetheart, it doesn't matter if you have a tail or feet. We love you for who you are on the inside
Eric: Our very brave little girl and we always will
Queen Attina: You are just like your mother
Melody: Aunty, Uncle
(She runs to them and they hug her then pull away)
King Keinn: Melody, we don't blame you for wanting to join us, merfolk, after all, it is a part of who you are
Queen Attina: So, we're giving you a choice, we can return your home with your parents or you can join us in Atlantica
[Eric and Ariel look shocked at first but then smile at their precious little girl letting her know that whatever she decides, they'll be okay with her decision and support her]
Melody: I have a better idea, Aunty
(She turns to Ariel)
Melody: Let's go home, mom
Ariel: Well, we'd like to, but we don't have a ship. How are we going to take our crew?
Eric: Don't worry, backup should be here any moment
(A ship was coming into view)
John Smith: Hey there!
Eric: All of our friends are still here
Royal kids: Melody!!
Melody: Guys!!
(They wave at her and she waves back)
Ariel: Let's go
[Attina returns Ariel to her human look and all the people get on the ship. It makes its way back to Italy with Triton and the others going back to Atlantica]
<after a few hours>
{Back at home}
(Triton gives Melody back her necklace)
Melody: Thank you, grandpa
Triton: Of course, and I've added something special. To become a mermaid, all you have to say is, "I wish to become a mermaid", and when you're ready to go back to land, you just say,
"I wish to become human". I made one for each of you
(He gives one to Ariel and one to Eric)
Ariel: Thank you, daddy
Eric: Thank you, sir
Triton: Eric, we're family, I think it's time we drop the formalities, and you call me, father
Eric: I will...father
Melody: Thank you, grandpa
Triton: You're welcome
Ariel: Let's get changed, eat something, and plan a new party
Melody: I think that's a great idea
[The royal family each takes a bath, gets dressed, eats some food, finishes getting ready, and invites everyone back out to the sea for a new party]
{Outside by the wall}
(Attina gives her trident to Melody)
*Pretend all of Ariel's and Eric's friends and their children were there. Pretend Triton didn't have the trident or crown. Attina had the trident, Keinn had the crown, and Attina was the one who made the rainbow above everyone*

[Melody was able to have a relationship with her grandfather, her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was able to come and go from Atlantica and the sea whenever she wanted. She made constant trips by herself and with her parents. Melody was surrounded by the people who loved her and whom she loved back. She was surrounded by her family and all of her friends, she had the best of both worlds, and she was entirely happy and content to be a part of both worlds, the land, and the sea]
