When Hope was finally released from the pit she couldn't remember much other than the endless darkness and a meaningless conversation she had with Clarke.

The first thing she did was make her way to the boarding school. She wanted to make sure everyone was okay, she wanted to know that Josie was okay without her.

She'd broken up with her because she was doomed to be in the pit but truthfully there was a feeling in her stomach that told her she was fated to be with someone else.

When she walked into the school grounds and saw Josie and Penelope kissing she felt like her heart was crushed a little, but the pain didn't last long. She needed to move on for both of their sakes.

She was on her way out of town when another monster showed up, a very tall and ugly one at best, but there was no way she could leave the school behind to fight the monster she brought back.

She followed it to the high school where she meet a few new people, Ethan, Maya, and another girl who had her heart racing before she ever learnt her name, Raven.

Her heart pumped more from seeing her than it it ever did for Josie.

Even with the massive feeling in her stomach to introduce herself she strayed away and kept on task, kill the monster then leave this town. Maybe even visit home.

Being down in the basement with Alaric killing the monster was a surprise in itself, but hearing her voice speak up was the cherry on top.

"Oh my god! What the hell is that!" Raven screamed.

Hope whipped her head around to Raven. Their eyes coming into contact. The holes in their hearts felt full again in that moment that felt like forever but truly lasted a few seconds when Alaric interrupted it by turning his niece around.

" Raven I can explain, but first let's get you up to my office to-to catch up. " Alaric stammered.

He looked back towards Hope and asked her to clean up the dead monster on her own. She nodded back to him and set back on her task.

The feeling of her heart being full slowly went down as the pair disappeared to his office.

Raven had this feeling of betrayal, her whole family just wanted her to forget. Who were they to decide how she views everything for the rest of her life. It's her life, why can't she choose what to do with it.

The feeling strengthened even more when her uncle and Stef were watching her in his office waiting for someone to compel her.

She needed to leave, clear her head and move past this painful chapter of her life.

Her head felt like it was spinning when someone walked in, it was her Aunt Care.

While walking towards Raven she looked at Alaric with a sharp glare and back towards Raven with a softened face.

Caroline hated this, constantly being used to erase her nieces memories. It felt wrong knowing she use to be in her place, getting her mind wiped every time she didn't fit into her friends agenda.

She looked Raven in the eyes and spoke, "You'll forget all about the monster you saw and only remember you had the best first day. You made new friends and plan on hanging out with them soon. And your parents will allow you to go spend as much time with them as you need if it makes you happy. " She finished off with a faint smile.

Raven closed her eyes and took it in, this was her chance to run.

She could leave and never look back, she just needed to find someone to go with her for the first part of the plan.
