"Favor?" Sebastian chuckled. "But we've always done favors for each other."

She shook her head and gathered her courage to raise her head, facing him with a pink dust of embarrassment on her cheeks. "This favor...is much more valuable to me than any other favor I've asked of you."

"[Name], why are you...?" He stopped himself and gently took her hand. She flinched, the shade on her cheeks darkened a fraction."Whatever it is, I will do my best to fulfill it."

"But you haven't even heard my request."

"You're a hard-working woman," he pressed on, furrowing his brows for emphasis. "You've helped many people, so please tell me how I can help."

She stared at him, studying the reflection of her pathetic self in his scarlet irises. Eventually, she saw this day coming... But will this favor affect their relationship? Only by voicing it out loud, she will find out. With a gentle squeeze to his hand, [Name] nodded and briefly broke eye contact.

"That's the problem, Sebastian... Even after all that, I'm not happy."

He slightly tilted his head, but dared not to interrupt her.

"All my life, I loved being surrounded by friends and family," she shared, "But I no longer have them around as often as I like after moving away to school. Living alone in a dark apartment with only the sound of my footsteps...has done a number on me." She bit on her lip, keeping her eyes lowered as her hand remained tight around his hand.

Sebastian set down his paperwork on his desk to take her other hand. "[Name], we're friends. If you were this lonely, you know you're free to visit me anytime, or I can visit you-"

"That's not what I mean!" she retorted shakily and apologized soon after. "I need full-time companionship. I need someone who wants to rely on me every passing day. I need someone to be sad the moment I leave home and happy to see me the moment I get back..."

[Name] pulled back her hands to wrap them around her stomach, still keeping her gaze away from him. "But with this job, I can't find the time to... to... meet men... Much like, I don't trust just any man to... And you, Sebastian, you're the only one I trust but I don't want to bother since you're busy as well-"

"Hey."

Her jaw was grabbed gently by his hand and lifted her eyes to him.

"Are you confessing to me?" His blunt question caused her to jolt and pulled away, flustered.

"Stop it... That's not my intention." She frownd and looked away once again, cursing to herself. Idiot, that's exactly what you want to do. She feared the way it would end if she did confess...

"Then spit it out, will you?" he sighed out. "If someone catches us being alone, they'll get the wrong idea."

She flinched nervously. That was practically a foreshadowing way of rejecting her. But she understood his frustration while she just kept silent—but that's just how difficult this favor is to ask of him! Once he began packing his things, she started to panic. JUST SAY IT!

"[Name], if you're messing with me then let's lea—

"...aby," she mumbled and instantly bit her lip again.

Sebastian stopped what he was doing and looked over his shoulder. "Pardon?"

She sheepishly glanced at him and fought the urge to cry out of embarrassment. But she stomped her foot, clenched her hands into fists at her sides and poured out her courage with one single shot.
