Jude's POV
I wake up at 6:30 in the morning and go downstairs to see if Callie's awake. Instead of seeing my sister, I see Lena making breakfest an Brandon drinking coffee.
I run to them and give them both a big hug.
"Hey, how's Mariana and Jesus?" I ask.
"There doing better and better everyday." says Lena.
"Ana is doing fine too." says Brandon.
"Mom, how are you holding with the whole... losing the baby thing?"
"Don't worry about me honey. These kinds of things happen and we just have to deal with it. Plus, with Connor here all the time, I don't think we could've manage to feed all those mouths."
I laugh. "So you're okay?"
"Yes sweetheart."
"Okay, I'll go wake up Connor."
Lena walks out of the kitchen.
"Um Jude? About Connor." says Brandon, stoping me from walking upstairs.
"What about Connor?" I ask, trying to hide my red face.
"What's going on between you two?" he says with a little smile.
"N-nothing."
"Didn't seem like nothing when I walked in front of your room last night." He winks at me.
"Um... I didn't want to say anything until Mariana and Jesus were back."
"So there is something going on, uh?"
"Yup. But don't tell. Only Callie and Lena knows. And now you."
He gets up and gives me a playfull tap on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, I wont tell. Just make sure you don't get hurt."
I nod. Brandon walks upstairs leaving me smiling smiling to myself in the kitchen. I walk back to my room.
Connor is still asleep, so I take out my phone. I take a few pictures of him sleeping, which is totally hilarious. I accidently click on the flash and take a picture. The bright light wakes him up and he soon realizes what I was doing.
"Delete those." he says, pointing at my phone.
"I don't think that will happen."
"C'mon." he says, laughing.
"Nope."
"Jude. I'll get my revenge if you don't delete the pictures."
"You wont make me change my mind."
"I'm warning you."
I shake my head and laugh.
"Fine, can I at least see them?"
"Sure."
I show him the ten photos of him.
"Oh my god I look horrible when I sleep."
"I don't think that's true."
We look at eachother and smile.
"By the way, Brandon knows. He saw us together in the middle of the night."
"That's fine. He had to know someday. And it's kinda better if they figure out themselves before officially telling them."
"You're right. Makes it's better to admit, since they already know."
"Yeah. I'm gonna go get changed."
"Okay. Hurry up I wanna brush my teeth."
"Yeah yeah I'll be fast."
Connor walks out of my room and into the bathroom.Connor's POV
I get into the bathroom and close the door behind me. I put on my t-shirt, jeans and socks. I smooth down my hair a little bit and brush my teeth. I wash my face with water and open the door of the bathroom. Brandon is waiting.
"Oh I didn't know you were there. Did I made you wait too long?"
"Nah it's fine." He walks into the bathroom. Before closing the door, he looks back at me. "Don't let Jude get hurt, okay?"
"Of course."
"He's been through so much, he doesn't deserve anything bad to happen to him."
"I know. Don't worry, he's fine with me."
"Okay."
He closes the door while I smile at him. I walk back to Jude's room and tell Jude that Brandon is in the bathroom.
Brandon finally gets out and Jude can get ready. At 7:45am, everyone is ready and we drive to school.Jude's POV
"Just tell me when you're ready, okay?" Connor says.
"Okay. Do you need help with your books?" I say as we reach his locker.
"Yes please. I can't wait to get rid of these crutches."
"How much longer do you need them?"
"End of the week."
"Already?"
"Yeah. The doctors said that it healed very fast."
"I can see that."
"So what class is it?"
"Math."
"That starts the week in a great way. A class with you how can I not like that?"
"Exactly." We laugh and get to my locker. More and more people arrive to school and I get a lot more nervous about coming out.
"Something wrong?" Connor asks as I open my locker.
"No."
"You seem... anxious."
"It's just that I keep thinking about the coming out."
"It's normal. If you don't want to do this today, we don't have to."
"I want to get it over with. The more we wait, the harder it will get."
"Okay, whenever you're ready."
"I know. You've told me seventeen times today." I say, laughing.
"I'm just making sure you'll be okay."
"And it's adorable. Thank you. But what happens if you're not ready when I am."
"I'll be whenever you are."
I smile and we walk to our first class.*
"So... still have a crush on Connor?" ask Taylor with a smirk.
"Actually, I can't call it a crush anymore."
"What? Why?"
Connor sits beside me. I look at him and he nods.
"Apparently, he had a crush on me too."
"Wait... Are you like, officially together?"
"Yeah."
"Then why aren't you holding hands or something?"
"Shhhh!" Connor and I both say.
"Oh, keeping it private."
"For now." says Connor.
"How long has it been going on?"
"A week." says Connor.
"Well, it's like 3 weeks since the tent. That's where it all started so we can say 3 weeks." I say.
"What happened in the tent?" she asks.
"Class, please take back your places. We will begin in a few minutes." says the teacher.
Taylor walks to her desk and we sit in silent for the rest of the period.
Five minutes before the end of the class, the teacher adresses herself to Connor.
"Connor, I see here that you have permission to leave 5 minutes before the end of class to get to your locker. You can bring a friend to help you with your books."
Connor and I both stand up. I grab my books and his and we walk out of class.
"It's kinda cool to have crutches. I get to miss 5 minutes of every classes."
"Yeah, there's that advantage. Hey um, I was thinking. Would lunch be a good time to, you know... come out?"
"I think it's-" We hear something that sounds like a gun shot.
"What was that?"
"Gun shot. Quick, in the bathroom." says Connor, pushing me in the boys bathroom beside us. "Get into that stall." he says, pointing the stall in the corner.
We sit down.
"It's probably just the practice they talked about. Let me text Lena."Me: Hey mom, when is the practice supposed to end?
After a few seconds, she texts back.
Lena: Jude. This isn't a practice. Stay where you are and don't make a sound.
"Oh my god." I say.
"What?"
"This isn't a practice, Connor. It's for real, and the whole school is in danger."
