Mirabella's POV

I woke up wrapped in someone's arms, I felt my body tense. I didn't know where I was. I opened my eyes to see my brothers all passed out in weird positions in the chairs in the hospital room. Wait-hospital room? I tried to sit up, but remembered I was trapped by someone in my bed. I heard that same person snore, I turned my head to the side and seen Cello beside me, I snuggled into my twin's embrace. I knew being in the hospital meant they saw the marks, but at the moment I can't make myself care.

"Good morning, baby girl. Do you know where we are?" My dad asked me.

"I'm in the hospital. What happened?"

"Your lung was punctured because of a fractured rib. I'll call the doctor and Angelo in to relay the rest of the information. However, once the doctor leaves, we need to talk about what we saw. I promise we don't see you differently, we just want to help you any way we can." I nodded my head and snuggled closer to Cello, waiting on the doctor and my brother. Angelo walked in with a man behind him. I looked up to see Angelo smile down at me. I'm glad they're all still treating me the same because I would feel uncomfortable any other way.

"Mira, this is my best friend, Michael. He was the doctor who operated on you. He's one of the best." Ang kissed my forehead and let Michael talk.

"Hello, Mirabella. I've heard quite a bit about you. Now, your fractured rib was the cause of the punctured lung. This caused it to collapse, making your oxygen levels low, causing you to become unconscious. Thankfully, your brothers got you here when you did, because we could be having a different conversation right now. You will be fine, but your body needs to rest. With the punctured lung, your broken foot, the dislocated knee and shoulder, and malnutrition. Your body was ready to give up, honey. Now, we're going to have you on an IV, but also you need to try and eat every meal. I'll send smaller portions and we'll go over a diet plan with your family, so we can get you eating healthy. You'll have a brace on your knee, your arm in a sling to keep you from further injuring your shoulder, and you have a cast on your foot that will be on there for the next six weeks at least. Now, since you're awake, we'll get you some breakfast."

I smiled at him and nodded. "Do you need to use the bathroom, Mira?" Ang asked me and I nodded. He fixed the machine so I can use the restroom and put me in the wheelchair. He helped me in the restroom, wash my hands and led me back into the room with my family. Which means the conversation is about to happen and I am not excited about it. Lorenzo and Angelo lifted me in my bed, and I smiled gratefully at them.

"Now, sorellina, I know you don't want to talk about it, but we need to know what happened. You can trust us, if you tell us about this, we'll tell you a secret." I smiled because I already knew their secret, but it was good knowing they trusted me as well.

I sucked in a breath, "mother and her husband never loved me. For as long as I can remember, I was cleaning everything. Making dinner at five years old was difficult. I accidentally put too much pepper in the macaroni and cheese, and they coughed. Mother grabbed me and held me down while he hit me with the belt. That was the beginning of my entire life. I would make a minor mistake and be covered in bruises, so then I was about to start school, they put me in homeschooling. Somehow they got me an accommodation to keep my camera off, so no one could see my bruises. Her husband was the chief of police, so if I tried to run away, I never even got off the property without bring found. Mother said I looked too much like my biological father who didn't want me. She threw me down the steps which is why my shoulder and knee was dislocated. She also chokes me till I become unconscious, that's where the hand marks around my neck are from. Now, Jimmy stomped my foot a couple weeks ago, when I tried to run away. He said it should keep me from trying again. That's the story of my life, I hate it, but I'm really glad I made it out of there and was reintroduced to you guys."
