Ariana P.O.V
(Next Day)
I walked into the theatre as today I was due to perform with some other girls in front of not only the class but the principle too. Mr Stone. He was quite judgemental and strict so for his approval and opinion was crucial. I had to get a good grade in music in order for my punishment to come to an end.
"Ariana" I heard Alexa shout from behind me. I turned my body round quickly coming face to face with her.
"Hey, what's up?" I smiled lightly but the response she gave was a cold hard glare followed by her eyes rolling in disgust. "What's the problem?".
"You" she stated solemnly tearing her eyes away from me bitterly. I waited for her to develop her problem. "You lied to me yesterday. You skipped cheerleading for this apparent family thing, you weren't even at your house last night!" I bit my lip hard wondering whether to apologise straight away or see what else she had to stay.
"Alexa I have no idea what your talking about" I chose the dumb option to see what else she had to say.
"Yesterday, I didn't want to go to cheerleading alone because Tia had to go to homework club and Caitlin hurt herself during P.E; so I decided not to go. Then I remembered I still had your jersey so I went to your house to give it back, only your dad was there and he said you was at cheerleading. I was about to say that there was a family meeting when I saw him start to worry. Then I had to say I got confused and apologised and left. There was no family meeting, so where were you really?" Alexa's voice dripped with venom.
"Fine, I'm sorry. I told a lie, I just didn't want my parents to know where I really was" I shrugged my shoulders looking to my white ballet flats.
"Which was where?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
"I was lingerie shopping" that was the first thing that came out my mouth okay? Don't judge. Besides it was believable.
Alexa let out a laugh. "You could have told me you know, I don't care I shop in Victoria secret all the time behind my moms back too. Anyway truce, no more lies" she opened her arms out wide I quickly embraced myself muttering truce.
"Girls and boys.. Ariana and Georgie your performing first so come and get ready" I heard the music teacher call out. I pulled way from the hug smiling at Lex.
"Go killem' like you always do Ari. Your biggest fan right here" Alexa winked pushing me forward so I could leave. I peeked over my shoulder to see her cheekily grinning and waving. I laughed to myself and made my way back stage.
"You can go first" I said to Georgie. She looked at me up and down and scoffed. I was wearing a grey hoodie that had a diamond on and my black leggings with my ballet flats. Why would you dress to impress at school? I let my eyes scan her body seeing her wearing a sleeveless boobtube shirt with tight white jeans and wedges. Why dress like that at school.
"I was planning to go first anyway, wouldn't want your so called talent to get a first look at anyway" she flicked her dark brown hair over her shoulder faking a smile that lasted a second before it turned into a frown.
"Whatever. What you gonna sing, something about your everyday pole dancing?" I sarcastically remarked. She gasped shaking her head.
"Actually no, I'm a little more classier then you are hunny. I wrote a song about Brandon" she looked to the floor in upset.
"Why? He's a player. Just because your popular doesn't mean he won't play you too" I mumbled quietly.
"Because I actually liked him Ariana! You wouldn't know what love is so don't worry about it" she waved her hand dismissively.
"I do as a matter of fact" she turned her head and half smiled as if we both connected in a weird way. Just then Steve the sound guy came over and handed Georgie her microphone.
"Good luck" I said quietly smiling sincerely.
"Thanks" she smiled before strutting on the stage.

"All I'm tryna say is your my everything baby, but every time I try to say it words they only complicate it baby baby, oh oh oh baby baby" I sung loudly through the mic. I opened my eyes to see everyone standing on their feet clapping which made me smile gratefully. I thanked everyone and ran back stage.
"Wow that was amazing! Those lyrics really meant something huh?" Alexa nudged me in my side winking. I nervously laughed. "Well?.. Who's it about?"
"Oh you know just some lyrics" I felt my phone start to vibrate so I pocket it out of my pocket to see Justin's caller ID I hid it away from Alexa. "One sec" I said to her before answering.
"Hey, I'm at school right now. Can I call you back at lunch or is it important?" I walked away from Alexa so I could talk in private.
"Nothing important. Get those grades baby, I'll see you later?" He asked un surely.
"Can you come outside mine at like six, I'll sneak out?"
"Mmhm sure. See you then love you babe" I smiled without thinking about it.
"I love you too" I said before hanging up. Alexa gave me weird eyes but replaced it with a smile. I worried at first whether she heard but then it was highly unlikely.
Alexa's P.O.V
There is something definitely up with Ariana. She never used to lie to me and she did. Her song lyrics too, they were obviously meaning something to her. I heard her conversation which she said she'd sneak out, so I'm gonna spy on her tonight. No way can she sneak around without telling her best friend.
"Jones" I yelled calling him over. "I need your help tonight"...
