Kyle's POV
Bailey has been ignoring me. I need to make things right between us, but I don't know how. But maybe Jordan does... She walks out of the bathroom at the oddest time, after everyone leaves the main hall.
"Jordan!" She turns around but her mouth hangs wide open, don't know why.
"Um, Kyle." She looks over my shoulder at the bathroom every few seconds.
"So, I want to make things right between Bailey and me. But I don't know how, do you think you could help me?" She looks over my shoulder again. "Is everything ok?" I start to turn around but she grabs my shoulder and whips me back around.
"Yeah, everything's fine! Come on, let's talk about you and Bailey!" She leads me off down the hall.
"Ok..."

After my talk with Jordan I decided to give up. She was no help at all. So I'm going to meet up with Bailey myself and just talk to her. I'm walking back up to the English room to get my assignment for Mr. Evans. I'm working with Bailey apparently. When I get there I see Bailey talking to him about the project.
"Ahhh Mr. White! Just in time, as you know, you and Miss Peters will read 'The Giver' and give a report. Now I know you want to change partners but I will not allow it!" He opens a drawer in his desk. "Now, here are your books. It's due next Friday." We take the books and walk out.
"Look Bailey. I need to talk to you." She keeps staring. "Bailey." Still staring. "Bailey." I grab her wrist and she spins around.
"What Kyle?!"
"Bailey, I'm sorry! Please, I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that. I thought I was doing the right thing, I wasn't. Can't you see I'm sorry?" She hesitates, moving her mouth but no words come out for a second.
"I think I'm gonna go my own way for a little while."
"But what about us?" I just spit it out.
"What about trust?" Her words hit me hard.
"You're the one who didn't trust me!" She steps in closer and lowers her voice.
"I'm not talking about that. You should've trusted me enough to see that me being quarterback is a good decision."
"Wh--" She cuts me off.
"Don't. When you think you're ready, talk to me, I'll listen. But THIS, does not show you're ready!" She turns her back and walks off. She'll have to talk to me eventually, we're doing a project together.

That night when I get home I just walk straight to my room. I throw my backpack on the bed. I flop down and roll over, hoping to fall asleep when my mom yells at me.
"DO YOUR HOMEWORK KYLE!"
"OK MOTHER!" I pull out "The Giver" and open it up. I start reading it, but I don't comprehend anything. I'm thinking about Bailey. I get lost in my own thoughts and have to reread the whole first chapter. I'm surprised I need to read it, didn't we read this in middle school or something?++End of Chapter Eleven++
