HANA LEUNG knew that she was different from everyone else, stepmom never failed to remind her. Many children grow up thinking the idea of being different was good— parents tell their kids to stand out, be unique, be special, but that wasn't Hana. Hana was a walking curse, or so she believed. Nothing ever worked out in Hana's favor so she knew the orientation tour was going to go bad the minute she stepped into the school. It always did.

But when she is introduced to the reality of Greek Mythology, she finds she might not be the curse she always thought she was. However that didn't stop the monsters, the nightmares or the glooming fear of the tragic stories of the mighty heroes who had all led dangerous lives and died painful deaths. As she navigates the maze of her new life Hana has to learn the inevitable truth about her parentage and bear the news of her fate, all while forging her own path in a world full of monsters because she was determined not to become another tragic story that was bound to be forgotten.
