The sun over Mount Olympus shines brightly on two figures standing before a woman who scribbles desperately on a piece of paper. The two standing before her are both dressed in traditional Greek chitons, one dark purple and the other white, the figure in white appears to be around four inches taller than the one adorned in purple. Both have golden laurel wreaths that stand out against their dark hair.
The couple jubilantly alternates lines as the scribe tries to keep up with them. She holds up her hands and signals them to slow down. "Wait wait wait, can you please start over from the beginning? Your incessant jabbering made me lose focus and spill my ink." The two turn to each other, sharing a secret knowing look, before returning their gaze back to the scribe. The taller one sighs patiently, "Yes, of course." He takes a deep breath before starting his story. "I am going to tell you the story of how we saved the world."
As he speaks, minor gods and spirits of various kinds come to listen to him tell his tale. "Now, I had saved the world already once before, and I never thought that I'd need to do it again, especially not in such an important role as I did, but here we are." The muse glares up at the boy as she crumbles up the sheet of paper she'd been writing on. "I need to hear the story from the very beginning if you want me to write it into an epic."
The boy blushes and the girl in purple places a hand on his arm, "May I?" He silently nods and she clears her throat. "This is the story of how we saved the world. Our story has many different faces to it, all of which have the same conclusion. Perhaps you could write about two childhood best friends who were torn apart by love, of a lonely god without purpose, a girl who was perfectly happy with a normal life, or perhaps you could write an entire series about the misadventures of a seaweed covered buffoon. Either way, as I previously said, the story ends in one place no matter what, so, here is the beginning.
