As the two heroes walked inside this strange land known as the storybook, a strange sensation ran down Ben's spine and a bizarre grandiose crackle made its way into Ben's watch. "Hey! ouch, he yelps as this sticks to him. "Are you okay Benjamin?" Rook said with worry in his voice", Ben paused and repeated with a frown "Yeah I'm good, and just Ben is fine Man" Both chuckled at this familiarity they shared as their steps led them into the center of town, where they saw a mysterious-looking diner as it permitted in the dead of night, it seemed quite popular even at this time. "Alright, let's find out where we are later, first let's eat yeah?!" been said with a smile to which Rook smiled back, their fists reaching across as it touched the surface. They finally walked towards the dinner door, they paused as they noticed its lights were still on despite being dead of Knight.

Rook Opened the door, and it allowed Ben to enter "Thanks bro, let's grab a seat" Ben hurried over to one of the booths, Rook sighed with relief, getting his friend back to normal. The folks in the dinner watched as the two sat down, curious as to who they were ben got up to greet them. One of the tables observing was made up of two people, one a grown woman, with a red leather vest, pale skin, blond hair, and a slight scowl adored her smiling face. She was joined by a little boy, perhaps her son, he had a bluing black coat with a scarf around his neck, brown hair, and a thick nose at the center of his face.

As Ben walked his way over to them Rook did some investigation of his own "Excuse me" rook spoke getting the attention of a lady about twenty maybe, pale skin, tall, and black hair. She wore revealing fits splatters with red. She paused eyeing him over with a strange smile "Oh and who might you be," she said unfamiliar with these visitors " I'm Rook, I and a friend just moved here from another town" he smiled nervously, he was lying, he learned this from the plumber academy, he was given training on how to lie to civilians if the situation presented its self. " oh so where will you and your friend be staying at?" she asked with a friendly smile as she handed him two menus to take back to the table.

"Thanks, not too sure where we shall take residents" "Oh, no problem, you guys can stay here, we provide rooms" an old voice made itself known. she was quite old with greying white hair, and a pair of old tiny glasses. As tubby scowls at the old lady for interrupting their conversation Rook speaks "Thank you very much," he said with appreciation, right before he can head back the lady walks up to him with a mysterious smile, "My name is ruby what's yours" "rook" he says nervously as she chuckles " ill see you around then, Rook" he smiles anxiously as he walks back to the booth. He notices Ben talking to the residents in a booth.

"Hey I'm Ben," he said to the woman sitting with her son, she was unsure what to make of this or him so she just answered politely. "Yeah, hi, my name is Emma". The boy she spoke with looked worried as if he knew something no one else did, he whispered something g only she could hear "No one ever comes to the storybook" To this she rolled her eyes still speaking to this strange visitor. " so what brings you here?"

he pauses unsure of what to say, he can't just say he woke up in a portal with no recollection of how he got here from another world, so he took with a lie. "my friend and me, are just visiting" he says as his friend went over to them with a smile from across the booth. " yes were visiting from out of town, we just moved for a little vacation". "and you are?" she asked curiously "Rook, my names Rook". "Interesting name,"

she thought internally, inspecting these strange travelers "All alright see ya Ben said laughing nervously as they headed back to the booth with food on it. "I don't trust them," Emma said watching them curiously with a slight scowl, this earned Henry's attention, and her son "Why? They seem nice" he responded innocently. She smiled at this and responded once more "he's lying, they both are, or rather they aren't being specific enough" he froze at this "How?"

she chuckled rubbing his hair as she continued "When people lie, there are two likely scenarios, one, they are telling the truth but it covers a piece of it submerging the whole truth, and two they tell a false truth, this was the former" "I don't know where they came from but it wasn't just out of town" she said eyeing them both as they eat their food.

Henry notices his mom's odd behavior, so he quickly holds her hand and smiles she smiles back. Ruby comes around the visitor's table, and she takes an interest in Rook and smiles seductively, this gets Ben's attention as he smiles knowingly chucking within himself, he knows Brooks, is not the sharpest when it comes to dating and stuff.

"Alright," Ben says in between mouths full, "chew your food first rook says. Ben smiles as he quickly gulps down the food in his mouth, he wipes his mouth before getting a serious composure, making Rook sigh. " All alright, let's go over what happened" been states.
