Joanna's POV:
Today was an amazing day! The doctor told me that there was a significant change and my mom is getting better! I can't visit her though because they're testing her. I feel so good today that I'm actually gonna try to have fun and get ready. I took a shower and went with the extremely casual black shirt and black leggings. David was with his family having fun and they wanted to bring me, but I haven't seen Brook in a while, so I passed. I texted Brook to ask where he was. After like 20 minutes, which is quite awhile since Brook replies super fast most of the time, I got a text.

"im at school. my class ends at 2pm. ill text you when im out. i want a brownie"
I cringed at the text. It was so obvious he was texting under the desk so he wouldn't get caught by the teacher. I mentally corrected all the grammar mistakes in my head and went to Starbucks. I got a coffee and decided to suprise Brook at his class. It's spring break, so only a couple of kids are there. I also got a brownie and white sugar because Brooklyn loves to sprinkle sugar on top of brownies. I got in a taxi and went to school.
I was at the office, and the teacher told me to just go in and watch them while she was in the restroom. It was Mrs. Berry, I always did well in her class. I walked down Thorpe High School's hallway and looked in the window without opening the door. I saw Brook checking his phone and like 5 other guys who I've never met before. I opened the door and yelled "Heeeeey!"
Everyone looked at me and smiled. I walked to Brook and said "Brownie and white sugar." while handing him the stuff I bought from Starbucks. "And coffee!" he said while taking my coffee out of my hands and sipping it. I kicked him in the knee and he pretended to have heart break, just like old times haha.
"Don't be rude to a lady." a guy said while taking back my coffee and giving it to me. I stuck my tongue out at Brook and put my hand around his shoulders and said "Hey. What's your name? Wanna be my new best friend? This one kinda sucks." I said jokingly looking at Brooklyn who had a pouty face on.
"You guys must be close. My name is Henry." the guy said laughing.
"I wanted to name a pet Henry once! I'm Joanna. I haven't seen you around school, did you just transfer?"
"Yeah. I'm gonna start this year. But, dad made me get spring break class to learn about the school and stuff. I'm from the UK."
"Oh cool. Just like Brooklyn. I'm from America but my parents are from the Philippines. Alot of people who speak English seem to be coming here now."
He smiled. He looked really nice. I wanted to be his friend.
Brooklyn's POV:
Henry and Joanna were getting to know each other. I mean, its cool. Its just that back in England, Henry was a bit of a player and he would hit on girls but then drop them and go for someone else.
"Henry is one of my Arsenal mates." I said.
"Oh cool! Are you better than Brook?" Joanna said.
"Nopeee. I'm the best of the best!" I said confidently smiling.
Henry grabbed Joanna by the hand and took her to the corner of the room and I could no longer hear their conversation.
Henry's POV:
I took Joanna to the side "I'm way better than Brook for your information." I said laughing.
"I beat Brooklyn all the time. Wanna play?" she said being confident.
I smirked "Well, I mean if you're not scared."
She smiled and came closer to my ear and said "Try me."
Brooklyn came and pulled Joanna's hand back to his table.
Joanna's POV:
I was challenging Henry to a match, when Brooklyn pulled me away and sat me at his desk.
"What's wrong?"
"Uhm, can you help me answer this?"
I smiled "Okay, I guess. You free after class?" I said while answering some of the questions.
"I gotta babysitt Harper, you can come over if you want. You gonna visit your mom?"
"I can't today. Because they are testing to see what made her get better so fast. She's still in a coma, but they said she always had high blood pressure and it went down to normal now. They said the outcome is good, so I'm happy."
"That's great. I'm so happy for you."
"Your mom's in a coma?" I heard Henry say.
"Oh yeah. Its been a bit over a week now."
"So is my mom. She's in the hospital right now."
"Oh. Have you seen her at the hospital yet?"
"Nope. Actually, I've never met her."
I looked at him confused and he said again "Can we talk somewhere private?"
I nodded and I told Brook to wait.
I took him to the school cafeteria, because no one seemed to be there.
"You've never met your mom?" I said breaking the silence.
"All my life, I only had a dad. Ever since I can remember, I never had a mom. But, recently, my dad said that my mom's in the hospital and she's in a coma. I'm meeting her for the first time while she's in a coma."
I felt so bad for him. I saw him getting all choked up and his sentences became shorter.
"I'm sorry."
"About what?"
"That you have to meet your mom for the first time when she's in a coma."
"Its okay. I'm gonna visit her tomorrow." he said trying to smile.
"So am I! What hospital is your mom in?"
"Dad said its a hospital called County Junior Hospital."
"So is my mom. Wanna meet up and go to the hospital together tomorrow?"
"Sure. What's your number?"
I gave him my number and we went back to the classroom because Mrs. Berry told us to go back. I said bye to everyone and Brooklyn, then I went to take a taxi home.
