Nicki POV//
I woke up on the floor on top of some pillows. Next to me were candy, popcorn, movies, spoons, chips, drinks, and a sleeping sherika. I smiled at the thought of last night. I smiled at the thought of when I needed my best friend the most she was there. I got up and got in the shower making sure not to leave any spot untouched. I wrapped myself in a towel and went to retrieve my phone which has been ringing for at least ten minutes straight.
"Hello" I said in my most professional tone
"Nicki I've been calling you" on the other side of the phone was a worried meek.
"Meek baby I'm fine I was just in the shower" I reassured him. I heard him sigh of relief and I chuckled.
"I need you back at home so I know your safe. I miss you. What can I do to prove that to you" he asked sounding like he was on the verge of tears.
"I-i don't know... Meet me at our favorite coffe shop in 30" i said before quickly hanging up. I didn't want him to talk me into anything. I sighed and got up to get dressed. I lotioned up, put on my under garments and looked for something to wear. I put on a white long sleeved fitted crop top, a black skater skirt, and some white red bottoms. I left my hair down and straight. I grabbed my phone keys and purse and headed down stairs.
"Where you going Mrs thang" sherika yelled from the kitchen
"Meeting with meek" I said nonchalantly
"Good now you can finally get yo ass out my house. Oooo imma have me some company over and get me some" sherika laughed
" well that hurt my feelings" I said pretending to cry " but whatever I'm a bad bitch" I laughed while walking out the door"bye rikaaaaaaaa" I yelled
"Bye nikaaa" she yelled back before closing her door.
I check my phone and I was right on time. I hopped in the car and drove off.
Coffee place
When I pulled into a parking space I saw Meeks car. I sighed and got out. Meek greeted me at the door.
"Hey baby" he said while licking his lips
"Hey" I said coldly. Ion even know why I'm fronting I missed his ass ALOT and its only been a day.I rejected his hug and walked by him into the coffee place. He pulled out my chair and I sat down. I though it was cute how he was still a gentelmen when I was being a complete bitch to him.
"So tell me about this laurice" meek said
"Well back in highschool laurice ,sherika, and I were best friends. Everything was fine until we got older and I started getting involved with music. She started acting and looking like me. I didn't pay much attention to it until she started telling people to call her onika or nicki for short. Then she started plotting to kill me so she could take my place. She was really close once too. She was caught by the police and they asked me if I wanted to press charges. Since she kept telling me she changed I said no. Then a few months later i was five months pregnant . on my way to that hospital to find out the gender she cut the brakes on my car and I got into an accident." I paused wiping away a tear that had managed to fall out "my boyfriend and the baby died and I almost did too. They said my baby was what saved me. After that they put her in a mental asylum . I didn't think she would ever get out. The night I got that text from her I just wanted answers. I wanted to know why she did it. Instead of answering me she attacked me. I guess the neighbors heard the noise and the police came. They barged into the house. She pulled a gun out on me and said " you took aron away from me" before pointing the gun at herself and shooting." I finished letting more tears escape.
Meek reached across the table to hold my hand. He was speechless and I wasn't surprised. Who wouldn't be.
"Who was Aron" he asked
"He was my boyfriend and laurices ex. I didn't know that until I was pregnant. She told me how they planned their whole life ahead of them and as soon as I came it all shattered. I mean of course I was mad but I couldn't let my baby live without a father. But it doesn't matter now" I said wiping all of the tears away
"I'm so sorry baby. Its gonna be okay" meek said
"No meek its not. That was my baby and wasnt smart enough to keep it safe. Even though it wasn't born I already loved the little thing.I thought that that baby could turn my life around for the better and now well never know" I said as a tear threatened to escape my eyes
"The baby kept you safe it was your little soldier . the baby did change you life for the better" meek said making me smile.
I got up and hugged the life outta him cause the lord knows I missed him.
Meek pov//
I can't believe nicki just told me that. It makes me feel like we can be open about anything.
" come on I wanna take you somewhere."
I said
Nicki just took my hand and followed me to the car.
