It was already night by the time Lucas and Lilly made it back to their campsite. Lilly immediately ran over to her parent's tent and went inside. Her mom and dad were sitting on cushions and playing cards. "Honey, do you have any eights?" "Ha! No, sweetie go fish." Lilly interrupted their playing. "Mom, Dad. Something is wrong with Lucas and this forest! I want to go home; I really think we need to go home." Her mom looked at her and sighed. "Lilly what happened?" Lilly told her mom about what happened at the shack. Her mom stayed very quiet after she finished telling her about what happened. "So? What should we do?" Lilly asked. Her mom and dad looked at each other, then her dad spoke. "Well Lilly that is something very scary you are describing, but I'm sure you just imagined it. Your brother would never do something like that, and besides me and your mother will keep you two safe." Lilly was frustrated, her parents would not listen to her! It was like they were under some sort of spell! Lilly thought Lucas was acting strange! And scary things WERE happening!! "Fine go into Lucas's tent and ask him what happened." Lilly made her parents come with her to Lucas's tent. Lilly thought because Lucas was oddly cheerful on the way back to the campsite, that maybe she could bribe him with a new Lego set so he would tell the truth. That's it! She would tell him that if he told the truth, she would buy him Legos when they got back home. She was sure he would tell the truth, he couldn't resist Legos! Then Lilly would finally know why her brother was acting so strange and what happened to him while he was in that creepy shack. They made it to Lucas's tent and went in, Lilly gasped in utter horror. His whole tent was covered in all his Legos. Every. Single. Lego. It was all covered. Lucas even had Legos dripping down from his head! He was sitting in his Legos. Lilly couldn't even see his legs. "Lucas what have you done to your tent? Where are you going to sleep?" Their mother cried. Lilly was super glad that she had her own tent, there was no way she would ever sleep near Legos! She couldn't even sleep without having nightmares about falling into a pit of Legos and never coming out of it. "Don't worry mom I'll put half of them back into my backpack." Lucas smiled at their mom and Lilly didn't even know how he got all of his Legos into the car and then in his tent. Lilly tried to ignore the horrible sight and pleaded with her brother. "Lucas please tell mom and dad about what happened at the shack, I'll buy you a new Lego set if you do..." Lucas thought for a moment, then he spoke. "Oh yeah! Me and Lilly found that crazy shack that the host lady lives in." Lilly was waiting patiently, happy he was about to tell them what happened, but then he said this. "And that's when Lilly told me that we shouldn't go inside, and I thought it was a good idea. Then we both went back here to our campsite." Lilly felt her whole face drop into a frown. Her dad clapped his hands together. "Welp that explains that! Let's all eat dinner and roast some marsh mellows and then fall asleep until dawn wakes us!" Their parents walked out of the tent and left Lilly and Lucas alone. "Lucas how could you do that to me!? Mom and dad will never believe me again! You did go into that shack! What happened to you in there?" Lucas sighed and looked at his sister, then he innocently smiled at her. "Lilly, I simply told Mom and Dad that "WE" didn't go into the shack, just like you had said. You never told Me not to go in... you said we.. So technically it was the truth," Lucas said with a smug grin. Then Lucas got up and let all the Legos fall to the ground. He walked right past Lilly out of the tent, leaving her standing there with fear and confusion. Not even a bribe for new Legos got Lucas to tell the truth.... now Lilly KNEW there was something very, very wrong with him!
