Delilah wondered through the hallways with Violet at her side. Enid and Wednesday had gone to fencing but she didn't really enjoy it so she decided to go for a walk instead. As she wondered around she ended up outside. It was raining but Delilah didn't mind, in fact she loved it. As she walked around she noticed Wednesday looking extra angry. She smiled walking over to the girl before looking up before noticing a giant gargoyle hurtling towards Wednesday and she jumped into action pushing the goth girl out of the way resulting in her being knocked unconscious. Violet barked loudly at Delilah, sensing the danger she had just put herself in.
"Bug! Are you and Wednesday okay?!" She heard Xavier yell as he jogged over.
'I'm okay, just a bit scratched up. Wednesday is out cold. Help me get her to the infirmary?' Delilah signed back and Xavier nodded picking the goth girl up. Delilah sat in a chair beside Wednesday as she bounced her knee anxiously waiting for the goth girl to regain consciousness.
"It's okay bug. The nurse said she alright" Xavier reassured from the other side of the bed. Delilah frowned but gave a small nod. All of a sudden Wednesday's eyes opened.
"Welcome back" Xavier murmured smiling down at the goth. She shot up and glared at him.
'Take it easy!' Delilah signed quickly still bouncing her knee anxiously.
"The nurse said you don't have a concussion but you probably have a pretty nasty bump" Xavier stated sitting back down in his chair.
"The last thing I remember I was walking outside feeling a mixture of rage, pity and self-disgust. I've never felt that way before" Wednesday muttered looking between Xavier and Delilah.
"Losing to Bianca has that affect on people, I think" Xavier mentioned. Delilah stomped her foot a thunderous glare spread across her face.
'I hate her so much! I could kill her with my bare hands!' She signed grumpily as her eyes flashed black for a mere second before going back to blue and Wednesday smirked at her threats.
"I looked up and saw that gargoyle coming down at me and I thought, well at least I'd have an imaginative death then you tackled me out the way Delilah. Why?" Wednesday continued on looking at her roommate.
'1. I didn't fancy seeing you be crushed to nothing in front of me while I was enjoying my stroll and 2. Call it instinct' Delilah signed and sat back satisfied with her explanation.
"I expect you want me to express my undying gratitude to you" she muttered to Delilah.
"Hey I helped. I carried you in here!" Xavier whined butting in. Delilah stuck her tongue out at him earning her a pout.
'You know Wednesday, most people just say thank you' Delilah signed.
"I didn't want to be rescued" Wednesday stated rolling her eyes.
'So I should have just let that thing crush you into dust!' Delilah signed as she glared at the goth.
"I would've rather saved myself" Wednesday mumbled and Xavier scoffed.
"Good to see you haven't changed" he stated.
"If it makes you feel any better let's just say I carried you in to return the favour. Delilah..well I guess you'll just have to make it up to her" he spoke again and Delilah smirked. Wednesday looked confused.
"Xavier Thorpe? You probably don't remember me. Last time we met, I was about two feet shorter, 40 pounds heavier" he continued
"What happened?" Wednesday asked quickly.
"Puberty I-" he was cut off to a hard smack to the back of his head. He winced and Delilah held in a giggle.
'She means what happened last time you guys met idiot!' The brunette signed to him.
"Oh. Uh- it was my godmothers funeral. Apparently she was friends with your grandmother, and they spent their twenties in Europe, swindling the rich and notorious. I don't know, but we were ten, and we were bored, decided to play hide and seek. I had the inspired idea to hide in her casket. I got stuck as it was headed to the crematorium" Xavier stammered and Wednesday interrupted.
"I had heard muffled screams. I just figured your godmother had somehow cheated death and was trying to claw her way out"
"Either way, you hit the big red stop button and saved me from being flame-broiled. So... now we're even"  Xavier finished.

Delilah had gone back to the dorm early and was sat on her bed humming to her self while reading a book. She went completely silent when she heard some shuffling. She looked around for the cause and noticed a small lump under Wednesday's sheets so she wondered over. She bent down looking at it waiting silently for any signs of movement. There it was again a small shuffle. Delilah pulled back the sheets to see a hand there. She jumped back slightly startled and looked at it confused when Wednesday burst in. Thing tucked himself back under the covers shooing Delilah away.
"What.are.you.doing?" Wednesday hissed glaring at the brunette.
'I though I saw a...spider! Yeah a spider but it wasn't' Delilah signed wondering back over and sitting on her bed. Wednesday snapped around to look at her bed when she heard it squeak. She pulled back the bedsheets revealing Thing.
"I knew it! Hello Thing" She mused and thing crawled away. He grabbed onto to the bed frame as Wednesday caught him pulling him off holding him up in front of her.
"Did you really think my highly trained olfactory sense wouldn't pick up on the faint whiff of neroli and bergamot in your favourite hand lotion?" She questioned him as he desperately tried to escape her grip. "I could do this all day" she added as she slammed him into her desk pinning him down.
"Surrender?" She asked and Thing tapped the desk violently. Delilah smirked and walked over to the two clearly amused by the scene. Wednesday didn't even take a glance at Delilah as she interrogated the poor hand.
"Mother and Father sent you to spy on me,didn't they?" The goth mumbled and Thing shook.
"I'm not above braking a few fingers. The fact that they thought I wouldn't find out just proves how much they underestimate me"
Thing continued doing hand gestures to Wednesday.
"Oh, Thing, you poor, naive appendage. My parents and worried about me. They're evil puppeteers who want to pull my strings even from afar. The way I see it, you have two options"
"Option one" she spoke picking Thing up and shoving him into the open draw of her desk.
"I lock you in here for the rest of the semester, and you go slowly insane trying to claw your way out, ruining your nails and your smooth supple skin. And we both know how vain you are" she muttered.
"Option two" she said yanking him out of the draw and back onto the desk.
"You pledge your undying loyalty to me"
And thing did as told bowing to Wednesday.
"Our first order of business is to escape this teenage purgatory" Wednesday told the hand.
Delilah tapped her shoulder looking confused.
'Why are you leaving? And what's with the hand?' She signed.
"This is Thing" Wednesday replied nonchalantly ignoring the first question.
