THIRTY ONE

"I'm so sorry Jake. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you like I promised.."

The three watch in disbelief as they all watch Heeseung completely vulnerable for the first time in their lives.

Not once has Soobin ever seen Heeseung so open and willing to show how much an event has impacted him. Even after 5 years of their friendship, not once has Heeseung ever been so comfortable to show his true colours, his emotions without fear of rejection or negativity.

Jake has single-handedly changed Heeseung.

Bringing him close Jake reassures an almost sobbing Heeseung that everything was okay. Despite it being definitely not okay, Jake couldn't stand seeing his lover in such distress and pain.

This is what Jake signed up for when he willingly let Heeseung into his heart. He knew that if it was going to work at all he would have to take the wheel and lead when the time calls for it.

That time is now.

He gently brings Heeseung's face to make eye contact with the older, his heart breaking at the sight of his bloodshot, puffy eyes, tears still falling as Jake gives him the softest smile as he wipes away his tears.

"I'm fine aren't I? You had no idea this was going to happen. Don't beat yourself up over things you cannot control. Soobin and Yeonjun helped me, they both made sure I was okay and Soobin helped you too also didn't he?"

Heeseung nods as to tell Jake he was following what he was being told.

"See? It's all alright baby. You and I will be okay won't we?"

Jake's smile only grows as he sees Heeseung's smile come to life at his words, nodding Heeseung replies with a shaky breath.

"Yeah. We're going to be okay."

Jake smiles at him, nodding his head. "We're going to be alright my love. It's you and I always."

Heeseung's heart felt so warm, so filled with love he could only cry out of happiness. Jake wiping the tears that continued to roll down his face.

He finally felt loved, for the first time in his life. Heeseung had finally been able to feel what it's like to be loved unconditionally.

"You and I.. Always and forever?"

"Till the end of time Bambi."

With the help of Soobin and Yeonjun, Jake was able to get Heeseung back home where he can take care of him without interruption.

After everything that happened he knew that Heeseung would only want to be with his lifeline, safe and at peace.

Jake had finished feeding Heeseung a easy meal so that Heeseung wasn't going to bed with a empty stomach.

Giving him the princess treatment he holds him close, whispering sweet words to him as Heeseung slowly nods off, his eyes struggling to stay open.

Jake swoons at this. "Go to bed baby it's okay."

He's met with little trouble as Heeseung only snuggles up more, a dumb smile on his face as he's given endless love and kisses.

"My handsome boy." Jake whispers. "You have my whole heart sweetheart."

Giving him a final kiss on the forehead Heeseung finally goes to sleep, his head filled with only Jake.

Jake's smile fades. He hasn't forgotten about those disgusting girls who took advantage of Heeseung.

Remembering how they kept feeding him drink after drink even when he was slowly slipping out of consciousness made Jake's blood boil.

No person should go through that, especially when they know the perpetrator was still out there living carefree.

It was almost as if they were inviting Jake to tear them apart.

How dare they try to think that they could get away with hurting the one man who only showed him love and compassion. How dare they think they can live knowing they took advantage of another being in public.

Jake has an internal conflict with himself.

He knows he shouldn't do it, but if he does nothing then it's only going to make it easier for others to try this again.

He would be doing the world a favour by getting rid of the disgusting people who do such cruel acts to others.

Looking over to his phone he hesitates for a second before reaching out for it, immediately going to his messages to contact a certain person.

Jake turns off his phone and placed his attention back onto the sleeping Heeseung in his arms.

Jake smiled as he gently pursued the olders hair with his hands. Feeling tired himself he pulls his lover close, protecting him from all the dangers around them. Jake joins him in a warm comforting sleep, his mind consumed of thoughts of his lover in his arms.

Jake was going to do everything in his power to give back everything Heeseung gave him. He wanted to show him that Jake was absolutely willing to sacrifice anything and anyone for him. Even if it meant having to scare those around him.

It was all for his love. His everything. His lifeline, Heeseung. He would kill for him if the time calls for it. If it meant getting revenge for his lover, he'd gladly shed blood for him.

It was going to be him and Heeseung, always and forever.
