Trying to move on

I've been avoiding him for days now. He has been trying to talk about what happened and I don't want to.

"Feeling up to another lunch date my goddess?" Carlos says and I chuckle.

I need to move on..

My son quickly goes to him and hugs him.

"Sure I'd love to." I say with a smile.

I can sense eyes on me and I already know who it is.

Just go with him and don't look back..

He takes Miguel into his arms and takes him to the car.

"Where are we going this time?" I ask him.

"I want to talk to you about something. I already got you 2 some food." He says with a smile.

I nod and buckle my son up.

"What did you want to talk about." I ask him curiously.

"I know the situation...and I know you love him, but he is getting married and you should move on. I suggest we date. Just to see how it goes. If it doesn't end up how I wish..it will be fine. We will still be friends. Do you want to give it a try?" He asks with a hopeful expression.

I need to try. I can't keep suffering.

"Alright. I will try it. I'm sorry if it doesn't turn out the way you want it to." I say with a sad expression.

"I understand. We can still be friends. Let's just try okay?" He asks.

I nod and smile.

This might be good for me..

I see my son making a mess.

"Oh I'm so sorry! Baby you made a mess!" I say with a serious tone.

"It's okay." He says warmly and cleans it up.

I eat what he bought for me.

"Uh oh our lunch date is over." He says playfully.

I nod.

We go back to the building and he holds my hand.

"It will be fine. Just work. I'll take you home from now on." He says with a smile.

I nod and smile back.

I see Johnny with rage in his eyes.

Don't mind it. Don't mind it.

He takes me back to the office.

"I'll have Miguel with me for a bit. I'll bring him back later. Bye baby." He says.

I wave him goodbye and Johnny comes up to me.

"Are you dating him!?!" He says angrily.

I shrug and get back to work.

He pulls me to his chair and makes me sit on his lap.

What is he doing!?!

I try to get up but he doesn't let me.

"Why are you doing this Lisa..why are you making me suffer like this..!?!" He hugs me tight.

I push him away and go back to my desk.

"Keep it professional sir. We are at work." I say coldly.

I see his face sadden.

It's breaking my heart seeing him like this..

I ignore it and keep on working.

I call my mother.

"How are you feeling mom?" I ask worriedly.

"I'm good honey. The surgery was a success. I'll be home in a month." She says happily.

I smile.

"I'll go see you in a few days. Get some rest. I love you." I hang up.

"How is she" he asks worriedly.

"She is fine now. Stay away from us." I say angrily.

He just nods and doesn't say anything the rest of the day.

"Baby your son is asleep." Carlos says quietly.

I find him and carry him.

2 Weeks Pass

He has not talked to me since that day..he has also been avoiding me.

"Daddy??" My son tries to get his attention.

He smiles at him.

"Go to mommy. I'm busy." He says nicely.

My son comes to me and cries.

"Don't cry baby.." I say worriedly.

He doesn't look my direction and just focuses on the files on his desk.

Is it my fault..?? Should I not have pushed him away..??

"Hey darling." Carlos says with a warm smile.

He gives me a big hug and carries Miguel.

" I have a present for you." He says excitedly.

Miguel gives him a big smile with a curious look.

"Here you go!" He says happily and hands him a big toy car.

My son laughs and takes it and starts playing on the floor.

"What do you say Miguel?" I ask him.

"Thank you!" He says happily.

"No problem. I think we should leave him here with Johnny. Let's go on our date." He says smiling.

I nod and don't look back at my boss.
