chapter 23: falling apart

3rd pov

From when we left off the creature suddenly charges at the devils as they fire off their magic attacks but they just bounce off the body as it swipes one of it's claws as the devils avoid the strike by dodging the claw as it retracts the arms before suddenly launching multiple missile like energy blasts towards the devils as they quickly set up a barrier which barely held together.

Issei: w-what the hell is this thing made of!?

The creature suddenly goes onto its front legs as it roars which shook the area as the others had trouble maintaining balance. Once the roar ended the beast charged at the group seemingly faster then before but before it hit them it vanished into thin air except for a few cubes lingering in the air.

Sona: everyone keep your guard up! Who knows where this thing might come from!

The devils carefully look around as they listen as an echoing growl is heard all around them as one of the cubes lights up as the devils turned towards it.

Rias: there!

Team Orc suddenly launched multiple spells attacks at the orb as a large amount of smoke covered the area as the growl no longer was echoing as the only thing visible was multiple red lights from the cubes as they move around before it swirls the smoke into a large tornado of smoke around the devils before the color of the smoke became a crimson red color as koneko suddenly flinched.

Koneko: above us!

All the devils look up as they see the crystal behemoth is seen charging at them from above As they dodge the initial impact but the force from the impact forced them into the tornado of smoke which forced them upwards as crystal like wings suddenly sprout from it's back as it glows with a dark energy.

Issei: sh#% what are we supposed to do? We're too spread out for a barrier around all of us and even so the barrier barely held together against that thing.

The wings suddenly unleashed multiple projectiles at the devils as they try to dodge it with their ability to fly but it proves to be difficult with the crimson tornado moving them around but they were able to successfully dodge the attacks.

Issei: is that all you've got!?

Suddenly the crimson tornado started to pull them towards the ground in a reverse motion as the spikes sprouted from the ground as the devils began to panic and launch spells at the spikes allowing them to land on the ground as the behemoth started to stand upright again as the wind was being pulled towards it's mouth as a dark energy is seen manifesting infront of it. The devils noticed that there was some cover nearby as they took the chance and ducked there as the behemoth unleashed the attack as some of the cover was destroyed but the devils was relatively okay.

Issei: this thing is tough! How the hell are we going to beat it!?

Suddenly the behemoth roared as it jumps into the air as the devils were pulled up along with other nearby things as their surroundings are getting covered in a red mist before everything went dark.

(Meanwhile)

Speed groans as he slowly opens his eyes as he sees that the two humans along with tails,knuckles, and sonic was looking at him in worry as he sits up.

Speed: what happened?

Tails: well that dragon knocked you out and proceeded to absorb the master emerald and now there's a extremely large orb in the sky.

Speed looks out of the window as he see's the large floating orb as sonic scoots over too speed.

Sonic: this might not be the best of times to ask but why do you look like me!?
