It took me awhile to get over Zanes death and every now and then I'd get nightmares about being kidnapped.
My dad went back to the cabin to check things out. All of Damons guards had fled and the only one left was Ryan.
Dad brought him back to our territory and called for a pack meeting. Not everyone was allowed to go. Only Zane's parents, Talon, my mom, Tristan, and a few other guys that held high positions in the pack. We all discussed what to do with Ryan. Well I didn't disscuss what to do with him it was mostly everyone else. They decided to let Ryan go since he wasn't a threat.
Later on, Damon's beta came over to talk with Tristan. He said that Tristan was the one next in line to be Alpha. But he gave Tristan time to think about what he wanted to do and said he'd be back in a week.
In a way I didn't want him to become Alpha because that would mean I would probably barely get to see him. So when the week was up and Damon's beta came back to get Tristans answer, I dreaded what he was gonna say.
"So what have you decided, sir?" he asked Tristan in such a formal matter.
Tristan took a deep breath. "I decline the spot as Alpha. It now belongs to you," he answered. I felt relieved.
The guy was surprised at first but accepted the position as alpha and went back home. I asked Tristan why he did that and he told me that he wanted to be able to go to college and have a somewhat normal life. I was happy with his answer.
The next year I graduated from high school and was going to attend the same college as Tristan. We stayed pretty close to home, we were only two hours away. And Talon was able to attend college as well. My dad decided to keep his position as Alpha for the next four years and even longer if he really had to.
After college Tristan and I decided to get a small house closer to the pack. As soon as Talon took over as Alpha, Tristan would be his beta and we would be able to move into a bigger house. There were lots of perks to being Alpha or Beta.
"Ready?" mom asked me one last time. She looked me up and down again and almost cried. Again.
"Mom stop," I said walking over to her and giving her a huge hug.
"It's just so hard to believe."
I rolled my eyes. "You didn't cry this much at Talon's wedding. Or when Rhi was in the hospital having your first grandchild."
"But you're my little girl."
I laughed. "I know."
"Alright, we're starting now," Dad said walking into the room. He hugged me as soon as he saw me.
"You look beautiful."
"Thanks, dad."
"Okay let's go."
"Don't let me fall."
"I won't."
We both stood at the back of the church waiting for the music to began. And once it did both my dad and I began to walk out. As I walked down the aisle I stared at Tristan. He looked amazing in his black tux. I felt the urge to pick up my dress and run towards him, but I fought it off. I tightened my grip on the boquet of flowers as I got closer to him.
I still remember the day he proposed to me. We were at home and I was looking franticly around the house for the braclet that he had given me. I was planning on wearing that to Rhi's baby shower and I was getting really upset because I couldn't find it. He kept telling me to calm down but I couldn't. Then when I turned around to yell at him to stop being an idiot he was down on one knee holding a ring out to me. Of course I said yes when he asked me to marry him and when I went to Rhi's baby shower I did my best to hide the ring but Rhi saw it and was extremly happy for me. She didn't care at all that had gotten engaged on the day of her baby shower.
And here I was today getting married to Tristan. It was hard for me to actually comprehend. My dad kissed me on the cheek before handing me over to Triastan.
The ceremony went well and so did the reception. Everyone was laughing and dancing all night long. It felt nice to have something that seemed somewhat normal. But once we came back from our honeymoon, we would have to do our traditional ceremony and marry our wolf half. Yes, I know that seems really weird but its normal for werewolves.
When we got to our hotel room, I began to feel nervous. I made Tristan wait until we were married before we would do it. I had tried to do it before but everytime we got close I'd push him away and I couldn't understand why.
"Don't be nervous, Lilly," Tristan said to me as he unlocked the door.
"Easy for you to say."
Tristan picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. As we were kissing he carried us into the room towards the bed.
"I love you, Lilly," he whispered.
"I love you, Tristan."
