Why is it Always Politicians?

Percy's POV:

Today is the first day of the new Wizengamot term, meaning it is the start of the first term I'm going to be attending. As ~excited~ as I am to start dealing with hoards of reporters and politicians, the start of term has already been set back due to the troll attack at Hogwarts.

Usually the Wizengamot term starts on the first weekend of November and meetings are held every weekend until the middle of July (unless I'm emergency is called of course). This allows for debates and proposals to be held each week before all bills and laws are voted on at the end of each month. The 8 1/2 month period theoretically gives proposers enough time to revise bills should they wish to bring them forward again. The problem with all of this however, is that should the term have started on time, it would have started 3 days after the troll attack. So it was decided between Dumbledore and the Minister that the start of term would be pushed back two weeks in order for everyone to prepare themselves more. Meaning that we start on the third weekend of November, but all the other dates stay the same.

Well Percy, you ask yourself, you still have 8 MONTHS left, what's the problem?

I'm losing key time to set up Lady Magic's plan people! I have enough to worry about with Hadrian at school, the dark lord and handling godly problems, I don't need less time to do everything. It's going to be hard enough winning people over to my side and out from under Dumbledore's thumb.

Anyway, I got up early to try and beat the harpies- I mean the reporters to the ministry but I don't know how successful that will be.

After getting dressed in black slacks, with a black silk button up and sleeveless black robe over it I went down to get some coffee. I took about 15 minutes to collect my thoughts and figure out what I wanted to get done during this meeting before I decided to leave. I threw on a hooded black cloak over my robes and shoved on some black dragon hide boots before flooing over to the ministry.

Lucius's POV:

I was waiting in line to get my wand examined when out of the corner of my eye I saw a familiar imposing figure floo into the ministry. Perseus' sharp gaze traveled quickly around the atrium before spotting me. He walked over and fell into line behind me, as he did whispers started to follow him.

"Lord Malfoy, good morning." He said simply.

"Good morning to you as well, Lord Olympia. How is Hadrian?"

"He's doing very well. I'm sure you may have heard from Draco but he and Hadrian have bonded even more while off at school. Hadrian's notes often include a story or two of a debate they can't come to a conclusion on" he chuckled.

I gave him a small smile and nodded, aware that we both knew others were listening in.

"Indeed, it seems they have found lifelong friends in each other."

We were both quiet after that, offering up our wands to be checked before walking to the lifts together.

"I must admit I'm interested to see how our first session with you active will proceed Perseus" I said to him once we were alone in the lifts.

He smirked, facing the doors of the lift but side eyeing me he said "I'm sure your stone faced mask will be put to the test."

The lift dinged as we arrived and the doors opened. We both arrived fairly early, but the wait in front left us with only 15 minutes before the session officially begun. There was a quiet murmur coming from the chambers, and a few small groups of reporters lingered outside the doors, hoping to catch or lord or lady before they went to find their seats.

When we stepped out of the lift, a few reporters turned, ready to pounce before backing away at the blank look on Perseus' face. After that we easily stepped into the chambers, heading up the stairs to the benches that overlooked the courtroom (just above the benches where the reporters would sit.)
