Summary- When Perrie and Alex get tasked together to look on a suspected murder case, they work together to find out who did it.

Perrie's POV-

It was a normal day at the office (for the most part) with more despicable criminals being brought into the station left and right every minute, we have a goal to stop all of the crime in this goddamn city and we will do it one way or another. I normally work with the detectives to go through all the evidence and/or file most of the paperwork but that all changed that very morning.

SLAM

A pile of files get dumped onto my desk out of nowhere, causing me to flinch and for my morning coffee to almost spill everywhere, before looking up at the person who dropped the pages, it was the chief.

"Officer Edwards, I have decided to bring you and a new partner to work on your first case of your own due to your amazing work and intelligence. Witnesses say that they saw the suspect and victim walking to the location of the murder on March 12th at 5:30pm." The chief tells me, a weird look on his face before he scurried out of sight.

"Sir! You never told me who my new partner i-!" I yell after him but it's no use so I look around to see Officer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain walking over to my desk.

"Officer Edwards, I happen to be that partner that you have been looking for..." He tells me with a smirk on his face, I roll my eyes and unwillingly start looking through and discussing the case with Alex.

Together, we decipher that the crime scene was at the local park, the suspect was male and in his late 30s and that the victim was a girl around the age of 11-14 years. We head out to the crime scene to find it a complete mess with streaks of blood and incriminating evidence all over the place. A few pedestrians stand by, obviously shaken by the scene that they have seen.

"Should we start analyzing the evidence or should we ask those pedestrians about what has happened?" I ask my partner.

"I think we should split up on this to get the most information as we can, Edwards." Alex tells me, pulling out a notepad and a pen. "You're better at analyzing evidence and I'm more charasmatic so I will go and interview the eye witnesses."

Alex wanders off after making that remark so I go to analyse the evidence that is presented to me, I take a sample of the blood on the floor and brushing for fingerprints on all of the surfaces available but to no avail. Just then, Alex comes back over still scribbling down what I assume are notes from the witnesses.

"So, what did you get, Oxlade-Chamberlain?" I stand up with him handing me the notepad filled with notes.

"Natural charisma always works like a charm to the ol' Oxlade-Chamberlain, Edwards." He tells me with a hint of cockiness in his voice.

"Be quiet..." I roll my eyes at him, pushing past him as I continue to read the notes.

1. The suspect was wearing a grey hoodie but must have discarded after murder
2. The suspect and victim seemed as if they were good friends or related in some way as there was no uncomfortable nature after what the witnesses had seen.
3. Suspect and victim had just left another house together and headed in direction of crime scene.

"I think we should ask the owner of the house that they had left for more information on the suspect." Alex suggests and I nod along and after getting information about what house the two had came from, we headed to the house and knocked on the door.

"Police, we would like to have a talk with you about an incident on March 12th!" Alex knocks on the door again after we get no response from the home owner. There is a car out front so there had to be somebody home, right?
