Summary: Tonight is a really important match for Liverpool and Alex, being in amazing form, thinks that Jurgen Klopp will be picking him to play but he doesn't, instead choosing a player who has just came out of the youth academy. As he recently came back from a potentially career-ending injury, Alex begins to reconsider his remaining time with the Reds...

Alex's POV: This Friday is a really important match, it's the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Tottenham Hotspur and surprisingly, we are currently drawing 2-2 on aggregate. I have been in spectacular form for the last 5 matches and I'm really hoping that Jurgen picks me in midfield. My girlfriend is gonna be at home with a couple of my teammates's partners watching this match and I really don't wanna be dissapointing my girlfriend because I've planned with a few of my teammates to pop the question if we get to the final.

"Alright, as we all know, this Friday is our second leg against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League." Jurgen starts, clasping his hands together and looking at every player on the team. "So, I've taken a real consideration of who will be playing..." He begins to read off the list of the starting XI until he reaches the midfield.

"So in midfield, we are gonna switch it up for a change, so it will be Jordan Henderson and our newest recruit to the team and making his debut, Evan Rodgers." He announces, pointing towards a lad that I've never actually seen before, that normal youngster look with his brunette skin fade and tucked in shirt. We all older players look at each other in disbelief before glancing at this kid looking smug as ever, shaking Jurgen's hand.
"Thank you, Mr. Jurgen Klopp. It's a real honour to be playing with these amazing players and I hope I can bring something really special to the team." This self-absorbed looking asshole introduces himself, acting like he's so high and mighty when really he is probably a lowlife from some trash town in England with both of his parents being drug addicts thinking that he actually has a talent for football.

My name is at least on the bench which makes this situation a bit better but I was hoping to show off my skill in a high-ranked tournament.

On Friday evening: We walk out and the crowd is all singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as the starting XI walk onto the pitch. I watch in grimance as this Evan walks past.
"You're looking really jealous, mate, of Rodgers. Give the boy a chance, he's a newcomer." Fabinho tells me, obviously noticing my jealous expression. "He'll probably get sent on loan next season anyway and you'll be right back on the starting XI immediately, Ox." I nod and watch them all line up, subconsciously wishing that I was there.

Perrie's POV: I'm watching this match, not with the other teammates's partners as Alex expected but with Jade and Leigh-Anne because for some unknown reason, they wanted to watch it.
"Why isn't Alex in the starting XI?" Jade inquires as the camera pans to Alex sitting on the bench looking miserable. "God, he looks like he's just ran over the neighbours dog and had to bury it in the garden." Me and Leigh laugh at that comment.

"I actually don't know why my baby isn't playing, he's been doing really well lately." I respond, scoffing.

"We have the line-up for Liverpool, this is a very normal team for the Reds other than a newcomer to the team by the name of Evan Rodgers, coming from Birmingham since the team was announced on the club's social media, fans have been trying to investigate why Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain isn't in the starting XI? He has been in amazing form, scoring 3 goals and playing 7 chances in the last 4 matches so why Jurgen Klopp hasn't played him and opted for a newcomer is beyond me." Th commentary team discusses.

Alex's POV 53': So far, the new kid has been playing horrendously with a loss of the ball every single time it comes near him and how simple it is to tackle him. But it's like Jurgen has been blinded by something because he keeps complimenting Evan's "brilliant play".
"Oxlade-Chamberlain!" The entire Liverpool side of the fans begins to chant loudly, making me smile with glee.

To Salah, to Mané! He shoots and he scores phenomenally with the crowd foing wild, the crowd hasn't stopped cheering for me though and I can just tell that it's getting to Rodgers since everytime he gets the ball, boos are heard by the entire crowd which can knock a player's confidence and self-esteem in an instant.
"Get Oxlade-Chamberlain on that damn pitch!" One extremely enthusiastic fan screams at my manager, making me chuckle. A entourage of people chanting my name ensues and after a moment of consideration, he finally turns a corner and puts me in the match taking Rodgers off.

Running with the ball, the keeper now just to beat and I go for a chip shot which the keeper misses and it goes in, ensuring our win as the crowd roars with cheers as I leap into the crowd not able to calm down.

The final whistle blows and we are off to the Champions League Final!
