LOST BUT NOT FOUND

Soon enough they ended up on the road again.

Shane kept suggesting Fort Benning.

And so our 125 mile journey began.

He said it'd be one of the few places left still held together by the military.

I didn't want to agree with him, but sometimes we have to do things we don't want to.

The RV stopped and I checked out the window to see that we had come to the interstate filled with abandoned cars.

Though the VR had also broken down.

I decided to stretch my legs and go scavenging for supplies and anything useful.

I glanced over to see Shane staring back at me. I glared and moved onto the next car.

That's until I heard Rick.

"Everyone under the cars! Now!" He whispered yelled.

It seemed as though a hoard of walkers were coming by.

I went under the car closest to me. Rick also came under the same car.

"Well shit on a stick, this is convenient." I whispered.

He just half smiled whilst shaking his head.

Carol was with Lori under a car and Carl and Sophia were in separate ones alone.

But a walker must've smelt Sophia out as he began to climb under her car.

She made a run for the woods.

Rick went straight after her.

Carol was in distress, and we got out from under the cars as soon as the hoard passed.

"Sophia!" She cried for her daughter.

Lori and I tried to calm her down.

Rick came back, without Sophia.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"She didn't come back here?" He replied.

I shook my head, my heart was pounding inside my chest.

Where is she?

"I found her but I told her to stay hidden whilst I led some walkers away. And that if I didn't come back that she should come back here."

Oh Sophia, I thought.

Rick and Daryl decided to go and find her.

We all continued to search the cars whilst Dale and Glenn tried to fix the RV.

I sewed T-Dogs cut with a sewing kit I found.

"It'll most likely need antibiotics, hopefully we can find those somewhere." I said, reassuringly.

After a while of waiting, Rick and Daryl made it back. Without Sophia.

A couple days later, everyone went to search for her, we stumbled upon a church.

Those with guns went inside whilst those without stayed outside.

Rick opened the door, revealing the walkers sat on the benches.

Rick, Daryl and Shane killed them, making it safe for the rest of us to step inside.

"Sophia!" Me and some others shouted. Another place searched and yet she was not found.

"Yo J.C., you taking requests?" Daryl said looking up at the statue at the front of the building.

"I wish, we- ," I was cut short by the sound of church bells ringing.

We rushed outside only to find that it was a speaker. "Fuck, its automatic," I said.

I switched it off at the switch underneath, cautious of it attracting walkers.

Some of us went back inside the church to rest or pray. Carol was praying for the safety of her little girl and the punishment of her abuser.

I looked over to the back of the church where Rick and Carl were standing, Rick had his head hung down in pity and Carl did the same. Like father like son, for however long I've known them both I've learned that Carl is a lot like his father.

I had never been religious but right now seemed like the best time to believe in God. To pray for help. And so I did, I prayed for Sophia, I prayed for Jaquie, I prayed for my groups safety. And I prayed for my family, hoping that maybe they'd either found somewhere to survive or found peace.

Soon we had come to a decision to split up and search for Sophia.

I went with Carol, Glenn, Daryl, Lori and Andrea.

We shouted for her, and looked through every part of of that woods as we could.

The shouting came to a hault when a gunshot rang in our ears.

"What was that?" Lori asked.

"Its probably nothing to worry about," I said, even though I was worrying inside.

A woman rode up to us on a horse shortly after.

She had told us that Carl had been shot and so Lori got onto the horse.

The woman told us the location of the farm where Carl was and we all ran back to the cars.

And so we headed on towards the farm, except Daryl, Dale and Andrea.
