"Did you text Papi about picking us up?"

It was a crisp snowy afternoon in Wisconsin. We - Chase, Sid, Lizzy and I- had just arrived the state mere minutes ago. The airport was undoubtedly warmer than outside, though it had stopped snowing hours before, that didn't stop the chilly breeze that came after.

"No i was actually thinking of surprising him."

"Great idea. Chase can you order a cab for us?"

"Yeah sure."

We were exiting baggage claim to the arrival hall. A bunch of chauffeurs in coats on suits were holding up Signs with names on it. The iron seats just after the hall almost empty looked like a great place to rest my tired limbs.

The rest of them seem to share the same thought as they gently settled beside me. On the plane Lizzy had decided to invite them to reside with us in the five bedroom family owned duplex. I thought it would've been uncomfortable seeing as we've yet to ask the owner of the house about the arrival of the unexpected guest which were of opposite sex.

You see, just like any young father of females Casper Wells despises boys. Especially those who had the intentions of woo and smash - ing us. If he had his way we would be locked up in a tower like house guarded by him and his trusty shotgun - Denise - only to be schooled by female teachers and never allowed to step out until absolutely necessary. He was a bit protective.

It was hard to blame him though. With what Lizzy and I went through his over protectiveness was justified, It also had its downs as he banned us from dating until we are 25 years old.

Of course Elizabeth did not take it seriously, she dates behind his back and always try to avoid him when in a relationship. And me. I'm no snitch. Only if he asks though. I already warned her that I won't tell, but if he asked I have no choice but to be honest.

Our cab arrived not long after and we were already on our way home. Sid and Chase decided on lodging in a hotel nearby safely avoiding any unnecessary encounters with him during thier time there.

The drive took an average of thirty minutes before the lady Uber driver pulled up in front of the two story building. It stood in a fairly quiet neighborhood which had quite a befitting distance from the other houses giving us the privacy we all needed.

Suddenly after scrutinizing the street waves of memories hit me almost knocking me over making me stumble stealthily. Thank God the others were too distracted too notice. Well except Sid whom I noticed was observing me from the corners of his eyes while conversing with the other two.

Surely he hadn't regarded me in anyway and was just taking a quick glance at me, right?.

"Rennnn!?"

"Huh? What?"

"I said nothing has changed. Look grumpy old Joe is still lounging on his yard as usual."

I jerked my head to the said man's house, she was right. As usual the oldie was sprawled on his foldable beach chair wearing a worn out white turned brown singlet and dark blue sweats with a heavy robe that had mystery stains on it. sunglasses was perched on his nose and a beer can in his left hand.

He paid us no mind.

Old man Joe was a junkie. Probably the oldest junkie you'd ever come across, when I was younger and I had my first encounter of him- with Casper of course- me and Lizzy thought it'd be funny to regard him as Junkie Joe. Soon the whole town started calling him that. He made his disapproval for that nickname known several times but luckily he didn't really have any opportunities to express it giving that our father is a cop.
