"Who dares breach our inner sanctum?"

The voice booms in the quiet room. If any other outcast was to be in Wednesday tied up position, safe to say they'd be weeping on the chair.

But for Wednesday, she expressed no emotion. These people hiding in robes weren't real kidnappers, just a bunch of high school clowns pretending to be intimidating.

"You can take the mask off, Bianca." Wednesday exposed causing whispers to be passed around.

Bianca removed the mask from her face in slight shock. She didn't expect the petite goth girl to instantly point out who she was.

The other members of nightshade also took their masks off, shattering Wednesday hopes. It left a huge disappointment in her heart.

Her foe was no psychotic killer. Just teenagers wearing robes and a mask to hide their identity. "Wait, I preferred you with it on. I don't need my eyes to get sore."

Bianca rolls her eyes and Xavier initiated a group conversation. "How did you get down here?"

"Rowan showed me," Wednesday replied. "Left pocket"

Xavier walked up to Wednesday and took out a drawing out of her left pocket. The picture with Wednesday standing in Nevermore while it burned didn't faze him at all.

He seen it before from the night Rowan had the whole book on his desk.

"I tracked the watermark to the Poe statue. Then without much effort required, I solved the riddle. Then I ended up bagged by you clowns." The goth girl said with a grim look.

The nightshade member with a black eye spoke. "Wait, there's a riddle? I thought we just snapped twice."

This received disapproving looks from other nightshade members.

"Well, aren't you the brightest in the bunch." Wednesday commented.

"The nightshades are an elite social code. Please emphasis on elite," Bianca stated.

Yoko added on, "We have roof parties, campouts, and the occasional midnight skinny-dip." The vampire smirked at her peers.

"And Yoko's an amateur mixologist."

"She makes a killer virgin mojitos," Ajax went on. "Gets pretty wild."

Wednesday so far wasn't even slightly impressed. The group was any ordinary club, just one with boring activities and a secret lair. Nothing to be proud of.

"Wow, do you guys even have a bedtime? Last I heard, the Nightshades had been disbanded." Wednesday recited old words.

Xavier agreed. "Yeah, the group kind of lost its charter 30 years ago after some normie kid died."

"But we have a lot of wealthy alumni, so Weems looks the other way as long as nobody makes any waves." Yoko informed.

Wednesday chimed in, "Someone like Rowan?"
