The same year Gabbie was supposed to turn thirteen she heard the box coming back up as usual by the end of every month. But she got surprised when she opened the box. Because on the floor there sat a boy not more than a couple of years older than herself. He had the darkest skin she had ever seen. He had dark brown eyes and a buzzcut. The little of his hair she could see was black. He looked up at her with a confused facial expression.

"You alright?" Gabbie asked, not knowing what else to say. He nodded.

"Where am I?" he asked. Gabbie held out her hand to help him up.

"Welcome to the glade", She said with a smile as he took her hand and she helped him out of the box. He looked around him with an even more confused facial expression.

"Wow! It's beautiful", he stated.

"It truly is", Gabbie said as she jumped down in the box to start loading out everything Wicked had sent up this time. "Do you mind giving me a hand?" Gabbie asked.

"Oh yeah, of course."

"So do you remember your name yet?" she asked while handing him another box. He suddenly stopped in his movement. He put down the box and sat down on the ground with a thud. Gabbie jumped out of the box and walked up to him. "Hey. You alright?" she asked as she put a hand on his shoulder.

"Why... Why can't I remember anything?" he asked while looking up at her.

"It's alright. It happened to me too", Gabbie answered.

"Did you get your memories back?" the boy asked. She nodded.

"I did. But I can't promise that you will be just as lucky. I have something called a photographic memory. That means I can't forget anything that I see or hear. No matter how much I try", Gabbie explained.

"But you just said that you did forget everything."

"I did. But only temporarily. After about half a year I had recovered all of my memories", she explained.

"Oh... Wait. How long have you been here?"

"About two years", Gabbie answered as if it was nothing.

They kept loading out the last of the supplies before they closed the box and it went back down. Gabbie showed the new boy around the glade and she told him about the maze and the monsters she called 'grievers'. She told him not to go in there unless he really knew what he was doing and unless he was prepared to run.

After the tour, Gabbie and the new boy started packing up the supplies they had gotten from the organization that put them in the glade.

"W.C.K.D?" the boy read from one of the boxes.

"Wicked. That's the name of the organization that put us here", Gabbie said as she opened a new box.

"Oh okay... What is this?" the boy asked as he had opened a small brown box and now held up a pad. Gabbie bursted out laughing and could not stop. "What?" he asked, confused over why she was laughing. But it did make sense, he had no memories from before the glade.

"That is for me", she said and he handed her the box.

"Okay. But what is it?" he asked, still confused.

"It's a pad... for when I get my period", Gabbie said, trying not to blush as she explained to him what he was holding. The boy looked pretty embarrassed as well.

"I'm so sorry", he said, blushing.

"It's no problem at all", Gabbie said and gave him a reassuring smile.
