This chapter will be about when Jeremiah started crushing on May which is when he was 13, and she was about to turn 13. This is not based on the show at all, I came up with this situation completely on my own. But thank you to the person who gave me the idea! Also, this will be from Jeremiah's point of view.
It was another day in Cousins, I sprinted out of bed. May, Conrad, Steven, and I would be sneaking out tonight. I had a feeling this day would go by super slowly, but I was still super excited. I tried to contain myself when I went downstairs into the kitchen. In the kitchen, were Belly, May, Mom, and Conrad. May and Conrad were in some deep conversation about who knows what. May and Conrad were practically together, we all knew that one day they would get married.
"Hey, guys." I smiled, sitting in between Belly and May.
"Morning." May smiles. She was eating a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.
"Could I drink the milk for you?" I ask.
"Um, sure, I'm almost done." She nodded and went back into talking with Conrad.
I sighed and started talking to mom about when dad was coming down. I wanted to show him how much my football catches have improved. Finally, May finished her bowl. "Here ya go." She slides the bowl down the table.
"Thanks." I quickly gulp it down.
"You've got a milk mustache." She giggles. I quickly wipe it off.
Conrad then butts in, "You've gotta stop with the milk Jere, you could get digestive issues."
I roll my eyes, playfully. "Am I not allowed to drink milk anymore Con?" I smirk.
"Fine," He chuckles. "You have fun with diarrhea." He gets up. "I gotta go, my friends picking me up for work. See you guys later." We all say goodbye, and mom leaves the kitchen.
"Are you ready? For tonight?" I whisper to May.
"What's happening tonight?" Belly asks eagerly.
"Nothing, nothing." May mumbles. "Jeremiah is being dumb." I could tell Belly didn't buy it. We were all thinking about inviting her, and we would've but she might tell a mom, or accidentally give it away. We couldn't risk it.
"Oh." Belly sighs and gets up and leaves.
"I feel so bad..." May whines. "But, I really don't want our plan to be ruined." She sighs.
"You gotta do what you gotta do." I sigh back.
At 12:00 pm we decided to meet at the beach to go over our plan. May and I walked down there together, we were first so we decided to go in the water. We both brought our bathing suits. We were just splashing and playing, like normal. Finally, Steven and Conrad showed up. We run out of the water to meet them.
"What took you guys so long?" I ask as we all sit down on the towels they brought. We were sitting in a circle.
"Lost track of time, we were throwing the ball. And then we had to make Belly believe that we weren't going anywhere." Steven replies.
May sighs, "I keep feeling like we should've just invited her. What if she finds out and tells the moms?"
"We just have to stop talking about it for the rest of the day," I reply. "We're sorting it all out now, right?" They all nod.
We begin to plan how the night would go. We decided on this, we would all go to bed at our normal times, since May was the quietest she would sneak to the mom's bedrooms to see if they were asleep. Once she did that she would text us and tell us the coast is clear. She would sneak out the front door, while we snuck out our windows. We would meet at the entrance of the summer house.
