This time it was Hancock woke first. Instead of waking Luffy, she gathered sticks, and used his knife to carve small nails, leaving them in a pile on her bed. She started cooking breakfast. Of course, she didn't have to wake him, because the smell of cooked boar did.
"Mornin' Hancock." He said, sitting up, immediately grabbing a bite. "Those beds sure are amazing. I haven't slept that good in a while."
"Why thank you darling. Though they're still incomplete."
"Is that what those nails are for?"
"Indeed they are. I'll cut flat beds of wood, and nail both sacks to them to make a thicker mattress."
"THATS SO COOL 🤩🤩" he said, grabbing a cut of meat.
She blushed. "Yes well... Today our preparations for winter will be completed."
"Great! What should I do?" He said, finishing up his breakfast.
"You'll start by hunting as many furry animals as you can. We'll use the fur to make blankets and a curtain for our door. We'll use the meat as food. Meanwhile, I'll weave some baskets and lids. They'll serve as coolers to store our food."
Sounds great. He said, giving her a thumbs up.
3 hours later
He returned to an excited Hancock, who had weaved 4 baskets and completed their bedding. They now had 2 mattresses, each comprised a wooden base, and 2 fluff filled bags nailed to them.
"Nicely done, Hancock! You're seriously the best!! What's next?"
"We'll settle down for lunch. After that, I'll gather some fruit while you skin the animals."
So they settled for lunch. Chopped strawberries and fish, courtesy of the Pirate Empress.
"This is wonderful. Thanks!"
"Of course. Though, I apologize. You could've spent today and yesterday training, had I built the shelter on my own"
"Don't worry about it. You'll help me train tomorrow." He said with a smile.
"Of course 😍"
They finished lunch and did as she had planned. Hancock gathered berries, apples, and any other ripened fruit, filling two of her baskets to the brim. Luffy used his knife to skin the bears and wolves, putting aside the coat after each animal. He also cut the meat into chunks and stored them in the other two baskets.
3 hours later
Once they reunited, she taught him to carve the coats into blankets, and nailed a few of them to the top of the doorway, creating a curtain that blocked cold air and trapped heat. After this, they were left with 3 blankets. At this point, Luffy had grown used to the raveness' erudite guidances, but he couldn't help getting excited.
"Seriously, Hancock, is there anything you can't do?"
She giggled. "Well, as a member of the Kuja, I have experience in outdoor survival."
"You're seriously awesome. You should try Rayleigh's training game. Today's the last day we'll be able to, with winter starting tomorrow."
"And what is that?"
"You have to blindfold yourself and use your observation haki to catch 100 leaves in a row before they hit the ground, and you have to dodge any and all debris the wind blows."
"How does one lose this game?"
"If any flying object hits you, or if you fail to catch a leaf, then you lose. And for me, I can't eat dinner if I lose."
"I suppose that's what you were doing when I first showed up."
"Yep!"
"Well then, we'll play this game at once."
Outside was chaotic. It seemed there wasn't a silent moment to be had. Realizing how good the game was for training beginners, she smiled. I'd hate to show off, but I suppose I could set a good example for Luffy. "I'll go first."
He watched in awe as she danced gracefully, her inky mane flowing like water in the wind. She couldn't stretch, or compress herself, yet she completed the game with ease. Watching her dance, Luffy realized how far behind he truly was. He went next, and she admired his valiant efforts. They took turns until the sun fell.
