You risked dipping a toe into the cold water as waves rolled into the rocks. It sent a shiver up your spine, but after another moment, you were used to it enough to relax in your stone seat and dangle your legs, submerging your feet in the ocean. Over the rock ledge, you could hear children laughing and a group of young adults jumping off a platform and jeering at each other when they hesitated. Luckily, no one could see you, all wrapped up in their entertainment to even notice where you were.
It took a minute before Iwaizumi's head lifted from the water. His sharp eyes immediately sought you out among the stone, and he swam forward, lifting himself and setting his elbows on the space next to your thigh. With a shake of his head, he sent water droplets flying, making his hair spike up quickly. One flew to your chest, landing on the pearl of your necklace.
You wiped it off, smiling. "So, I went to the beach but didn't see you. Figured coming here was a better idea."
"Good thinking. I was held back and could get to the surface early. So, wanna go for a swim?"
"I can't." You hissed regrettably.
"You can't swim?"
"Yes."
"So, you can swim."
"No, I can't. My home's in the city. There was no reason for me to learn how to swim. I end up wriggling around like a fish on land."
"Cute."
"No! Not cute, I could drown."
"Not with me, you won't. Come here." He pushed back, tail flicking the water against your knees as he opened his arms wide for you to launch yourself in.
You blinked. "Iwaizumi, as cute as you are, I am not jumping into open water. That's terrifying."
"Then just... slowly lower yourself? Come on there's stuff that I want to show you."
You huffed, looking away from his dark eyes while weighing the options. "You're not going to let me go, right?"
"Never."
"Promise?"
He smiled happily. "Promise. You just have to hold your breath for a minute."
"I can only promise 30 seconds at most."
"Then I'll just have to swim faster." He prompted you toward him again with a flick of his fingers.
Slowly, you lowered yourself into the water, shivering as it reached your stomach. As Iwaizumi approached and supported you under your arms, the rocks were more challenging to hold onto. Effortlessly, he floated you off the rock and pulled you underneath the surface.
