I finally caught my footing and my bearings and pivoted and ran, ran as fast as I could to my door, the pathway up the steps is short but it seems all the more long.

Glancing back at the house while trying to unlock the door with shaky hands, No man was seen in the yard as if nothing happened but I saw the top floor window and a man with brown hair staring at me, again locking eyes with me.

Just staring at me.

I got the key and jiggled it until the door cracked open, with fast movements I slammed the door shut, locking it as fast as I could.

I panted and felt panic grip my lungs. My legs moved fast on their own accord as I lunged to the stairs and almost tripped stepping up them.

"Mama!" I yell, trying to find her in this maze of a house.

I heard her voice, still in my room which tells me that my room is not finished. Following the echo, I reach her finally with a panicked look.

I opened my mouth but only a weird sound came out and my dad and mother gave me a concerned glance. "Are you alright, sweetpea, what's wrong?"

For once he cared, seeing me on the verge of a panic attack has him actually caring, I guess it's not that concerning when your own daughter is suicidal apparently.

"There was- t-there..." I took a deep breath, clenching my fists. "I think a murder happened.." I muttered.

My mother's eyes narrowed and her brows scrunched together. "Well, what do you mean, 'murder' and where?" She raised her voice at the end almost making my body flinch.

I fought the urge to bite my lip in nervousness. "I was out on a walk, while you guys were unpacking... and um..." I saw the disapproval in their faces already from my disobeying behavior, I'm not allowed outside without permission.

"I didn't even get out of the driveway before I saw the neighbor across the street, dragging a bloody-" my mother glanced at my father, giving him a knowing look.

I halted my speaking when she held her hand up, telling me to stop rambling. "Sweetie, you know you have to ask to go out, not to mention there are five kind boys across the street, not one murderer..."
