My throbbing head clawed through the deep slumber I was in. I groaned at the sound of my phone blaring my mother's ringtone.

I slammed my hand on my dresser with closed eyes as I felt for the annoying device. I hated my phone, unlike others. The only reason my parents gifted me a phone was to ensure that they could track me, call me, annoy me, and monitor me. And today they chose to annoy me.

Seeing as I had literally no friends my age, my parents' fault. The only person who would call me would be my mom as my dad doesn't like speaking to me usually.

I aggressively click the screen of my phone until the ringing stops. And my mother's voice is immediately in my ear as I shove it up to my face.

"Hey, sweetie!"

"Hi, mama..." My throat burns as I speak, I was very thirsty.

"Sorry for not waking you, we had to leave in a rush." There was a rumble in the background and chatter of crowds could be heard. "We're going to be gone until the 16th. Business trip as usual."

They usually say business trips, but honestly, I think they just need time away from me to party and be free for about a week. Well, this time it seems two weeks since it's the 2nd.

"We left you some money for pizza or whatever you eat..." There was a long pause after I sighed disappointedly, they wouldn't let me go grocery shopping even if I got a ride.

I thanked her not long after, I just wanted to get off the phone asap so I could get some water.

My mom said her goodbyes, as well as my dad as they said they were boarding their flight.

God this call was so awkward.

I slapped the phone down back onto the bed and rubbed my eyes, sleep was pleading for me to join it but I needed to make sure all the doors and windows are locked.

I stretched my arms over my head and arched my back, my eyes opening to a darkish room.

Though my glow and the dark stars weren't shining on the ceiling.
