I groan as my dry eyes peeled open, the curtains conveniently open and moonlight shined straight in my face.

My head pounded as the light hit my aching body, the thick covers draped over did wonders of making me comfortable. It smelled like blossoms with a woody undertone, the somewhat familiar scent oddly comforting.

Wait.

"What the..."

I grip the edge of the sheets and rip them off me in a panic, the once comforting bed now filled me with terror.

I balanced my arms behind me and with hurried movements, I shuffled up as I gripped the sheets, I whimpered in fear as my blurry vision saw a figure in the corner of the dark room.

Just standing there, waiting, quietly, as if the quiet didn't already make its presence known.

"S-stop- stay back!" I burst as I heard a polished shoe hit the ground as the thing moved closer.

My breathing shook as I saw the tall outline, still stepping closer even though they were not far from the bed. My anticipation is growing stronger and stronger with each moment passing.

I was ready to beg for the monster to go away but behind my neck felt like a knife slashed through it, I cried out and gripped the wound that must've been there, falling back into the bed from surprise.

I heard a sigh, one exasperated breath that terrified me as the figure got as close as it could be.

Right. Next. To. Me.

My eyes still didn't clear but I could see it was a boy- no a man, a beautiful man, soft skin and ocean blue eyes as he gazed down at me.

My back arched as the wound on my neck bled acid, melting my flesh when the man held a gentle grip on my arm.

"Pull away, love."

I panted against the pain and shook my head, not even resisting as the grip pulled back my arm itself, a gentle yet firm grip was enough to move my hand from the burning skin.
