HARRY POTTER ORIGINALLY FOUND Starling Black to be a friend, and in some way, mainly forced onto her by her parents, Starling saw Harry Potter in the same light. That was until one summer the Potters and Lupin-Black's kids just hadn't gotten together due to the stress of both of their children starting their first year at Hogwarts.

Harry Potter hadn't seen Starling Black in a few months and their already strained 'friendship' dwindled each second they had gone without being forced to see each other. So, seeing her, already in her school robes, at the train station was a slight shock. She was still as tall as ever for her age (a requirement to be a model), and still just as thin but something in Harry's little 11-year-old heart changed. Star had gone from the spot in his heart reserved for friendship and he deemed her new category as "Something more than friends." At least that's what he wanted them to be.

Harry had always acknowledged Star was pretty, unbelievably so, but his feelings ran deeper than looks and beauty. Even though her looks were most definitely a plus, he had seen her be kind and she loved so fiercely it hurt. For him, there was no denying it any further. He was obsessed with Starling Black. From then on, his words got jumbled in his mouth whenever he had to speak to her, sometimes he stumbled over his words when he thought about talking to her. He would pass her in the halls, watching her talk to her friends and listen to her music (she had an eclectic taste he couldn't get enough of) and Harry found he would much rather ignore Ron's rambles and watch her from afar.

While Harry would have loved to stay in his bubble of staring at Star, he found other students giving her the same looks only he was able to give her. I mean, how could it not happen? She was all the good things in the world wrapped into one pretty bow. With the realization that other people had free will and two people could like the same person, he consulted his father. Oh, what a bad idea.

His father, being the smart man he is, told him to "Get 'em, tiger! Don't stop until she says yes!" Not remembering the only reason he got his wife was that he stopped acting like a pompous asshole.

From then on, it was decided by Harry Potter that Starling Black's school life was going to be a living hell, at least from her point of view it was.
