The party is more boring than Violet could even begin to imagine, her only saving grace comes from the champagne she and Riven have been chugging since this morning.

"If your mum sees you drinking, she'll lose it," a voice comes from behind her, making her hand her glass to Riven, a smile finding its way onto her lips. She turns around to see her father, his arms open wide as she nearly tackles him to the ground. "You look like a puff pastry, my love," he swings her around before putting her down as she laughs, her smile never fading.

"I know but it's what mum wanted and we all know Vivian West always gets what she wants," she picks at her sleeves, taking her drink back from Riven who still has his eyes glued on Harvey. "Professor West, long time no see, how is the mortal realm treating you?" He holds his hand out and Harvey takes it, shaking it firmly. "Great, I just miss my little puff pastry," he gives Violet a side hug, noticing someone calling him from across the room, Violet and Stella's uncle and his brother in law. "But I'll see her doing the summer, take care of her at school for me," he gives Violet a kiss on the cheek before walking away as she watches him.

"He spoke to me for a minute straight, that's got to be a world record," she laughs, picking up her glass and trying to ignore the tears that threaten to pool from her eyes.

"Go ahead and cry little girl," Riven starts singing and she glares at him before noticing her mum in the corner of her eye. The woman is approaching her when she puts her glass down. When she turns she sees Beatrix talking to Dane on the other end of the room.

"Coming here was a mistake," she starts walking away when she bumps into a familiar dark haired girl who is accompanied by a smiling blonde. "Oh my God, you look shaken up. Have a drink," Anna hands her a drink which she immediately finishes. "Easy tiger, are you having romantic problems or family problems?" Aurora helps her to a seat. "Both, everything just kinda sucks," she laughs through the pain.

"Having an absentee father and cunty mother tend to make everything such but romance. I didn't know you knew anything about that," Anna teases, refilling Violet's glass.

"I want to make it work but I grew up in a house where my parents slept in two different rooms so you're right, I don't know anything," she laughs, her eyes falling across the room where Beatrix is still with Dane. When she finishes her drink Anna refills her glass again. "That's not true, you know how you feel about her," Aurora presses her head on Violet's, ignoring the girl's groan of protest.

"I know I love her," Violet picks at her burgundy nails as she holds up her now empty glass. "What kind of alcohol is this? It's really sweet," she smiles as Anna refills her glass. "It's apple juice, I'm worried that you think this is alcohol," Anna has a scold on her face as she pours Violet under glass. "I'm glad it's apple juice, I want to talk to Bea and I can't be drunk," she pushes herself in not her feet, taking a gulp of her juice. "Cheers to fixing shit!" She throws the last bit of juice onto the ground, heading across the room.
