When I made it to the woods I took a long needed breath. Finally being able to escape from all that chaos. I just wondered how Aonung was holding up.
I looked deeply around taking in its beauty at night for real this time. Smiling I leaped on a big branch just sitting and enjoying the view.
My ear shot up at the sound of crunching behind me, I slowly turned squinting my eyes. A figure getting closer and closer. I held tight to my knife trying to stay still when I thought. It could be a villager.. or Aonung!
"Liyanin! Is that you!" A harsh whisper echoed. "Aonung!" I hollered back. I watched as he ran up to me, terrible climbing up the branch. "Fish lover can't get up a small tree branch?" I laughed. He groaned finally making it up sitting next to me. "Shut up forest girl." He playfully joke.
We stared at each other smiling. It hadn't even been days until we last saw each other but with the trouble we were both in we're both lucky to still be breathing. Mother may have seemed calm only to calm dad down and save Aonung from getting ripped apart from him. From how I saw Aonung's father acted I can tell him and his mother acted worse when alone with him.
"Why did you come into the woods?" Aonung asked breaking the silence. "To escape all that chaos I needed to breathe without getting yelled at." I took a breather before continuing. "And I was hoping to see you, had a gut feeling you'd come out here." I smiled at him and he smiled back. "But how'd you get out without waking them up? Doesn't your parents have major hearing sense? I'd be too scared to do anything around your mother." He gulped. I gave him a look and he quickly changed his words.
"Not in a bad way of course but- you know what I mean.." "You know my mom basically saved you back there from my father ripping you apart, right?" His ears sank. "Yea.. but she can still be scary.." I laughed slapping him shoulder. "I'm joking, she scares me too sometimes. I was able to get out with the help of Kiri and Lo'ak they agreed to make a scene to stall if I wasn't back in time" he nodded his head slowly understanding.
"Real question is, how were you able to sneak out? I honestly thought your father would eat you in front of us all." I laughed while speaking stopping the second I saw him face drop. "They're pissed. You luckily didn't see how my mother acted, I'm sure she really wanted to eat me. But my parents are deep sleepers usually." He took a breathe.
"And now everyone is pissed at us- now I think we have every chance of not being able to be together.." he complained. His ears twitched before dropping, I stared deeply at his eye the corner of it began to water as if a tear was ready to fall. I smiled bringing my dangling legs up wrapping my arms around them.
"Everyone says they know my father Toruk Makto's story but really.. no one does. My father did lead the Great War against the sky people but his story had so much more then that. His story had many up and downs before he got here." I turned at Aonung seeing him deeply involved in my words. I smiled continuing. "My father was born in with the sky people. A marine he said, a man with a mission to get close to the Na'vi just to whip them out. He feel in love with mother and really felt like he was a Na'vi, and much more. His story is long, with excitement and emotion."
I turned again to him and he stared confused. "Why did you tell me all that?" He asked. "My father did many things wrong, I mean many and everyone was mad at him, but in the end- he made it through it and was excepted. We just have to give them time to take this in." I reassured him gently rubbing his back. He slumped up fixing his posture, looking at me with a smile. "We can only hope.."
I watched his lips as those words flew out of his mouth. Aonung must've caught me looking as he grabbed my face pulling me closer to him. Our lips now only an inch apart aching to be touched, but before we kissed we stared at each others eyes, melting away in the feeling of doing something others said was wrong but for us was real.
I closed my eyes the second our lips connected, smiling again this lips at the feeling of him caressing my cheek. I opened my eyes confused as Aonung pushed me back, I watched as his head dropped his lips smoothing my neck. He left many pecks of kisses along my neck making me chuckle.
"That tickles!" I gasped out. He lifted his head and laughed at me. "It wasn't a ticklish spot when we," I lightly nudged the top of his head before he could continue. "Do not being that up!" "Why, no one's around." He laughed enjoying my annoyed face towards him. Remembering what happened that day makes my stomach twist and face burn.
"Alright we should get back, I do not want to get in far more trouble then I already am." Aonung sighed. "How bad is it for you..?" I asked. "I'm not allowed to leave the pod unless it's for duties, my mother probably wanted worse then that but my father still hopes to 'train' me for future chief." He groaned jumping down. I nodded and followed him.
Walking along side each other we held hands and soon our hands intertwined, we glanced up at one another and smiled. We walked out of the woods. Turning with our hands still together he gave me a small kiss goodbye before breaking apart. I watched him run to his pod quietly get back in.
I started walking towards mine cringing at the sound it made as I tried to sneak in. Everyone was still asleep. Thank Eywa. I laid back down on my mat and closed my eyes dreaming of an everyday life with Aonung.
I hope soon we can be together everyday.
