Hey there! I'm so sorry guys, I know it's been like two years. Life's been crazy. Anyway! Here's a new chapter, a little longer than I'm used to writing. Hope you enjoy!
————————
The doctor said you are free to go and you didn't plan on staying in the hospital for much longer. You were packing a few things that April had brought you during your stay into a small bag. It took you almost two hours because you were constantly switching between packing the bag and watching Brooklyn 99 on your phone. April was beyond annoyed with you so she went down to the hospital buffet to grab something to drink.
"Are you done?" April's voice startled you but luckily you were actually pretending to do something productive at the moment so it didn't look like you were slacking off.
You turned around to look at her and casually took a shirt to shove it into the bag. "Yeah, almost."
She stormed over to you and snatched it from your hands. She knew you too well. "Give me that." She folded the piece of clothing neatly and helped you pack the rest of your stuff huffing in annoyance.
You sat down on the hospital bed, happily swinging your legs in the air. That was until your gaze fell upon the flower, still laying on the bedside table. "Hey, April?" you picked it up and even though it looked a little withered from the lack of water, it was still beautiful.
April hummed, as if urging you to speak. "Did you bring this here?" She looked at the flower with a puzzled expression.
"No, who is it from?" she mumbled while putting the last of your belongings in the bag and closing it.
Your attention fell back at the poor plant in your hands. "If I knew who it's from, why would I ask you if you gave it to me?" you furrowed your brows in confusion. Who else could have given you something like this if not her?
"I don't know! Could be because of your concussion that you don't remember." she responded after a few seconds when she realized her mistake. "Does it matter? You have a flower." she shrugged, swinging your bag over her shoulder. "Can we go?"
"Are you in a hurry?" you questioned her urgency, but stood up anyway. Previous conversation was already forgotten.
"I'm starving and if we hurry Vern can take us out for lunch. So quickly before he decides to eat by himself." She didn't wait for your response and walked out the door.
You gasped loudly. "You are using the poor man like that?" Vern visited you a few times, you really started to like him.
She shot you a quick glance and you laughed loudly. She knew exactly what to do to make men fall to their knees for her.
"I was actually thinking about paying this time." she spoke quietly. "He saved my life back there. I would feel really guilty if he had to pay for me." You nodded and instantly regretted making fun of her.
"He's your friend. Of course you feel guilty for what happened."
We continued in silence, even after entering the busy main hallway. "I would like flowers too, I've never gotten any." April spoke suddenly. You looked her way, not sure if she was joking or not.
"What do you mean you've never gotten any flowers? Guys are all over you all the time." You nudged her gently. She must be making fun of you.
"The guys I attract aren't normally very romantic."
"That's unacceptable! I'll get you flowers."
"Sure you will." she laughed and rolled her eyes.
"I will!" you protested, offended she dared to doubt you.
