You got up early in the morning which was very difficult for you but unfortunately you had a job interview. When you told April about it yesterday she didn't understand. You studied medicine for years and instead of finding a job in a hospital, you decided to apply for a position at a local coffee shop.

The thing was, you never knew what you wanted to do with your life. You went to study medicine only because you were really into biology in high school. You never actually wanted to do that for a living. You preferred to just do what felt right at the moment.

And a small coffee shop is literally the dream.

You assumed April was still fast asleep so you tiptoed around her room and into the kitchen. You had no idea where anything was but you were determined to find out. April's apartment was beautiful. What you loved the most about it was the cozy looking living room which you had a perfect view on from the kitchen.

You opened the fridge and took out some eggs, because that was really the only thing left in there. Then you managed to find a pan which didn't look like it was being used often. The whole kitchen looked like it wasn't being used often.

I bet April's using her big doe eyes to buy her food huh.

You managed to find some olive oil because in here butter apparently wasn't a thing. How was April surviving in here damn. Trying to find spices you almost ripped out your hair because there was none, but thank gods there was salt.

You were quite enjoying yourself as you made breakfast. You were cooking an omelette in your best frie- no- your apartment for the both of you. This was one of the moments you will definitely remember. Life feels so simple right now.

You were almost finished when you heard April enter the room. "Oh god, is that an omelette? I haven't had one in ages!" she whined and threw herself on a chair by the dining table. She inhaled deeply with her eyes closed. "It smells so good!"

You smiled "Yeah, well I'll have to do a bit of shopping later. Your kitchen is basically bare of food." You scooped the omelette with a ladle and placed it on April's plate. Taking a fork and a butter knife, you placed it in front of her.

She thanked you and got down to it. You returned to the pult and started making another one. "This is so good!" she proclaimed with her mouth full. "Man, I love you." she added a while later and stuffed her mouth again.

She must have been super hungry. You wondered if April was eating at all. Sometimes she got so caught up in her work that she forgot to take care of herself. You furrowed your brows and put the other omelette on a plate. Well you were here to change that.

Placing another plate in front of her and taking the empty one you ruffled her hair. "Wait, what about you?" she asked, swallowing the last bite.

"I already ate my breakfast." you lied and began to load the dishwasher. She nodded her head and started on the second omelette. When you cleaned up you sat down next to her. "So, we can take the subway together, the coffee shop I am applying in isn't so far away from Channel 6."

She put down the fork and looked at you feeling guilty. "Actually, Y/n, I don't work there anymore. I got fired."

"What? Why? When?" you questioned her, voice raising with every word. But when you noticed how sad she actually looked, you placed your hand on top of hers and added in a lower voice "April, why didn't you tell me?"

"I don't know. I was angry at first. I didn't know what to do. But then I got distracted and suddenly it wasn't such a big deal anymore. Why tell you right away if it didn't bother me that much? You would worry for nothing." she shrugged her shoulders and leaned back in her chair.
