Jeongguk only realized after he got back home that he had never gotten Taehyung's phone number.
This was a bit of a problem, because he had been thinking about Taehyung pretty much nonstop leading up to the evening and he had really been looking forward to possibly seeing him again.
However, Jeongguk couldn't help but think that maybe it was better to not try to contact Taehyung anytime soon anyway, given the circumstances. He wasn't sure if he was ready to deal with the complications that might arise from trying to pursue anything with Taehyung at this point in time.
The next day, Jeongguk got ready for school again, feeling a little bit more positive and motivated than he had been recently.
As he was getting dressed, something dawned on him: over the past two days, he had done absolutely nothing involving drugs or alcohol, and this realization made him feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
Maybe he really could get better and turn his life around, he thought to himself.
As Jeongguk arrived at school, the first person he saw was his friend Jimin, who greeted him with a hug. "Hey, Jeongguk," Jimin said, a big smile on his face.
"So, I heard something really interesting from my friend Jackson yesterday. You won't believe what he told me..."
Jeongguk couldn't help but roll his eyes when Jimin mentioned that he had heard something interesting. He thought it was probably just some mundane piece of gossip, like it usually was with Jimin.
However, Jeongguk's assumptions were quickly proven wrong when Jimin revealed that his friend had seen Jeongguk and Taehyung at an arcade the day before.
Jeongguk was a little shocked that some random friend of Jimin's had seen them and he wasn't sure how to react.
"Wait, what? How did your friend even see us at an arcade?" Jeongguk asked, feeling a little surprised and confused.
"Oh, come on, Jeongguk," Jimin said with a grin. "You know I have my ways of finding out things. Now, spill the beans. What did I miss? What happened between you and Taehyung at the arcade?"
Jeongguk couldn't help but laugh at Jimin's nosy and curious nature. "Jimin, you have literally nothing better to do, huh?" he teased.
"But to answer your question, nothing really happened. We just hung out and played some games, that's all."
"Jeongguk, I don't believe you," Jimin said, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. "I mean, have you seen that boy? He is absolutely gorgeous.
There's no way you spent all that time at the arcade and didn't at least kiss or something. Come on, give me some juicy details."
Jeongguk couldn't help but laugh at Jimin's eagerness for gossip. "Sorry to disappoint you, Jimin, but we're just friends," he said, shaking his head.
"And to be honest, I'm not really looking for anything serious right now. You know this."
Jimin wasn't satisfied with Jeongguk's answer, because he thought that Taehyung would be the perfect match for Jeongguk.
He had had a really nice conversation with Taehyung at the party and found out that Taehyung was really interested in Jeongguk. Maybe it was time for Jimin to become Cupid and try to make something happen between the two of them, he thought to himself.
"Well, I think you're making a big mistake, Jeongguk," Jimin said, a determined look on his face. "Taehyung seems like a really great guy and I have a feeling that he could be good for you."
Jeongguk couldn't help but laugh at Jimin's nosiness and determination to play matchmaker. He decided to ignore Jimin's suggestion and they walked to their class together, chatting about other things.
