As Jeongguk walked into the party, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

He still wasn't sure why he had agreed to come with Jimin, despite his reservations. He had thought hard about it but he still couldn't come up with a clear answer.

Maybe it was because he wanted to prove to himself that he could be around Taehyung and Jackson without feeling affected.

Perhaps, he wanted to show that he had moved on and that their past relationship meant nothing to him. Or maybe, he just wanted to stay friends with Taehyung and nothing more.

As he scanned the room, he saw Taehyung and Jackson in the corner, deep in conversation.

He felt a pang of sadness in his chest, but he pushed it aside and walked towards Jimin who had already started mingling with other people.

Jeongguk tried to focus on having a good time and enjoying the party. He was not going to drink he had promised himself this but he could still have a great time without.

Taehyung had freaked out when Jackson had come to him and told him that Jeongguk would also be at the party.

He had thought that the encounter at the cafe the day before would be the end of their story. He had thought that he would never see Jeongguk again.

But here he stood, a few meters away from Jeongguk, looking more stunning than ever in his nice clothes.

"Why are you being so weird?" Jackson asked, sensing something off in Taehyung's behaviour.

"I am not being weird, what do you mean?" Taehyung said, frustration creeping into his voice. Jackson just shrugged and walked away toward Jimin.

Taehyung still stood in the corner, watching people, especially Jeongguk seemed to keep catching his attention.

He knew he shouldn't be looking at Jeongguk, but he couldn't help it. He tried to keep his attention on the cup in his hand but his eyes found their way back to Jeongguk.

He saw Jeongguk talking to another man and they seemed to be talking and laughing and

Taehyung couldn't help but feel a little jealous. He tried to remind himself that he had moved on, that he had Jackson and that Jeongguk was just a part of his past. But the feelings of jealousy and longing kept creeping up.

He saw Jeongguk lean closer to the other man and the man touched Jeongguk's arm. Taehyung felt a wave of anger wash over him.

He turned around and took a big sip of his beer and walked away to the bar to get himself another drink.

"Hey Taehyung," Jimin came to stand next to Taehyung. "Are you okay? I hope I didn't put you guys in an awkward position. I just hope you guys can become friends again," Jimin said, concern etched on his face.

"No, it's okay Jimin, we talked, we're okay," Taehyung said, trying to sound convincing.

Before the party, that was indeed what he thought, that he and Jeongguk had moved on from their past and were okay with being friends.

"Okay, that's good to see. I think you and Jackson are really cute together," Jimin said with a big smile, trying to change the topic.

Taehyung stared behind him again to where Jeongguk had stood just minutes before, but he was now gone.

He scanned the room to see Jeongguk dancing with the other man he had spoken with before. He couldn't help but feel a sense of envy as he watched Jeongguk laughing and having a good time.

Taehyung had forgotten about Jimin and had only eyes for Jeongguk.

He couldn't help but feel jealous as he watched Jeongguk talking and laughing with the other guy.
