"The arcade?"
"I knew you were not going to like it we could go somewhere else" Jeongguk wanted to slap himself in the face he already fucked up.
"No- no I really like to go to the arcade"
"really? Jeongguk was kind of surprised he really thought that Taehyung would find it silly or childish but yet he didn't know Taehyung that well so he couldn't really judge.
"yeah I have not gone to one since I was a kid"
The two of them continued to chat as they walked, Jeongguk feeling a bit more at ease now that they had something to talk about. He was glad that Taehyung was so easy to talk to and seemed to genuinely enjoy the arcade as much as he did.
As they arrived at the arcade, Jeongguk's nerves started to kick in again. He hoped Taehyung would have a good time and not think he was too childish for suggesting the arcade. But as they walked through the doors and saw the rows of flashing lights and the sound of machines beeping and buzzing, Jeongguk couldn't help but smile. This was his happy place, and he was excited to share it with Taehyung
He didn't know what Taehyung liked to talk about because he didn't know his hobbies or anything for that matter.
"so-o what is your favorite color?" Jeongguk finally asked it sometimes said a lot about a person.
" Uhm I have a few but if I have to pick one I guess it's purple"
Jeongguk hadn't except that at all he thought maybe blue or red or something basic but here he answered with purple.
"so what's yours?"
"I don't really have one I like black but that's official not a color"
"why black"
"I guess it's just the color of my soul " Jeongguk saw Taehyungs face become worried and he regretted it immediately.
Taehyung had heard some stories from Jimin and of course the support group about Jeongguks past but he thought he was doing better know but him saying something like that made him feel sad.
"you know if something is bothering you you can always talk to me" Taehyung really ment it even though they weren't really good friends he cared.
Jeongguk saw the arcade and was kind of relieved he thought that asking for his favorite color would not case any awkwardness but look at his situation now.
"Thanks, Taehyung. I appreciate that," Jeongguk said, feeling guilty for bringing up his past. "But really, black is just a color I like. It's not like I'm still struggling or anything. I'm doing much better now."
Taehyung gave him a reassuring smile. "I'm glad to hear that. You know, I think purple and black go well together. Maybe we can find some purple and black arcade games to play."
Jeongguk chuckled. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I'm looking forward to it."
As they walked towards the arcade, Jeongguk couldn't help but feel grateful for Taehyung's kindness and understanding. He didn't have many friends and it was nice to have someone to talk to and spend time with.
Jeongguk walked into the arcade and headed straight for the racing motors, his favorite attraction. "Come on, Taehyung, we don't have all day," he called out to his friend.
Taehyung rolled his eyes, but obligingly sat down on the other motor. Jeongguk started the game and waited for the signal to begin.
As soon as the race started, Jeongguk's competitive side came out. Taehyung glanced over a few times and couldn't help but smile at Jeongguk's serious expression.
