Will's POV:
We sat around the campfire anxiously awaiting the return of Merlin and Robin, I glanced over at where Arthur was sat and his face looked as if he didn't care for Merlin's safety so when he got up and left the camp to get some air I followed him. I stopped on the hillside and leant against one of the tree's as he turned around and said 'Can I help you' I pushed off the tree and replied 'Back there you don't seem concerned that Merlin and Robin went to Camelot to look for Gaius, there's something your hiding'.
Arthur looked down at the mud covered ground as he said 'Gaius is dead Morgana tortured him to the point where there was nothing anyone could do to save him, he died in the cell where myself and the knights were being held', I was shocked that Arthur knew about Gaius's death but didn't think to tell Merlin I was about to say something when Allan came out of the stable and said 'Wait so hang on you mean you knew about Gaius's death and you didn't tell Merlin, don't you think he would have wanted to know'.
Robin's POV:
My head was spinning as we finally appeared in Sherwood forest, we were at the bottom of the hill near the camp and instantly I heard someone arguing. Merlin and I ran up the hill and found Allan and Arthur arguing, I raised my voice and said 'Alright that's enough, now someone tell me what's this all about' Will looked at Arthur and said 'Go on then tell them, or rather tell Merlin'.
I looked at Arthur and I could tell that there was something going on, I waited and Arthur still hadn't told Merlin whatever it was so I shouted 'Well what is it'. I knew he wasn't going to tell Merlin so I looked at Will and said 'Tell me Will', Will looked at Merlin and said 'Arthur knew that Gaius was dead, he died when Arthur and the knights were being held in the dungeons'.
Merlin looked so broken as he stood there, and then he looked at Arthur and shouted 'Why couldn't you tell me, what was so hard about telling me that Gaius was dead. How could you do this to me Arthur'. Merlin walked off up the hill towards the camp I turned to Arthur and said 'Just leave him alone, give him some space. Where is Gaius buried' Arthur took a deep breath and replied 'We buried him outside the walls of the city, the grave is marked with a cross'.
Merlin's POV:
The next morning the forest was covered in a light covering of snow, I was sat on a rock near the camp Robin came over and handed me a plate of food I gave him a small smile before saying 'I want Morgana's blood, I hate that I've just said that I'm no killer'. Robin looked over his shoulder at Much and then back to me as he said 'I wasn't and neither was Much but the crusades changed us, that's what turned my childhood friend into a killer'
