Hey you guys! This is the first chapter in my new story. It's kinda short but i hope you like it!

Chapter 1

I looked up at the stars and admired the beauty around me. I enjoyed the Alabama air as I sat on the dock at my cousin's lake house. I had spent my last two weeks of summer here with my family. Tomorrow I'll be home in Florida and two days after that I'll be back at school starting my junior year.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Andora. Not Ann. Not Dora. Not Annie or Dory or Andie. Just Andora. I just recently got over a 4 month relationship with a guy named Brandon. Apparently to him relationships are just a sure way to get into a girl's pants. So not the kind of guy I wanted to be with.

"Andora look at the fish I caught!" said my little cousin Bill as he proudly held up the fishing rod with a fish dangling off the line.

"Bill, that fish is almost as big as you are!" I said excitingly.

"Don't lie to him!" Allen smiled as his little brother frowned at him.

I laughed at my little cousins arguing over who can catch a bigger fish. Right then Jack ran up to us. The middle one of the three boys.

"The Baxter's next door are having a bonfire and wanted to know if we wanted to go over to make s'mores."

We raced over there and roasted more marshmallows then we could eat. By the end of the night my clothes smelt like camp fire and I loved it. We said our goodbyes and thanked them for inviting us over. When I got back to the house I was laying on the couch when I felt something wet on my face. A dog's tongue.

"Daisy!" I sat up and the dog put her huge paws on my lap. I wrapped my arms around her not wanting to let go.

"I can't believe I'm going home tomorrow girl. I'm gonna miss you the most out of everyone."

"Thanks. I feel so special." I heard Jack say as he came to sit next to me.

Even though he was about six years younger than me I felt closer to him than I did Allen or Bill. I tackled him into a hug. "Aww Jacky you know I'll miss you!" I gushed loudly.

"Ok I believe you know get off of me!" I laughed as sat back down.

The next day I woke up to the smell of bacon. I didn't want to go back home yet. I wanted to stay here forever. After I ate and got ready it was time for my uncle Charlie to drive me to the airport. With tears in my eyes I said my goodbyes.

"Can't you stay till Christmas?!" Bill said as he hugged me.

"I wish I could buddy." I had to fight back the tears as I said this.

Once I was at the airport I gave Charlie and didn't want to let go.

"Tell you're parents I said hi and that I expect to see them soon"

"I will." I said as I let go.

I walked through the airport doors and to the boarding gate. When I got on the plane I sat next to a little old man. "Leaving home or going back home?" He said with a faint accent.

"Going back," I said sadly "By any chance are you Australian?"

"Bloody Hell. How could you tell? I've been in the states so long that I thought I had lost my accent"

I smiled. "My father's Australian." The rest of the way we talked about his homeland and it made the flight bearable.

As I got off the plane I saw my mom pacing back and forth. "Mama!" I yelled as I ran up to her. "I missed you so much!!"

On the way home she told me everything that happened while I was gone. We were pulling into the drive way when we told me something that would eventually change my life.

"We have new neighbors. And they have a boy your age."
