Whoa. It's been 2 hours since Jace left and my heart still wasn't beating right. I thought about the warmness of his blue eyes. They say the eyes are the window to your soul and if that was true then I wanted every part of Jace's soul. Wait what was I saying? I couldn't be thinking that. I didn't want a boyfriend. I didn't want to be labeled as 'in a relationship'. When you're in a relationship, you hug one other guy and everyone thinks you're cheating. Your boyfriend hugs one other girl and everyone thinks your being cheated on. And lastly when your in a relationship with a guy as popular as Jace had become, everyone knows and automatically thinks it's their business. Girls that you never talk to suddenly become your friend just to say they're friends with the popular boy's girlfriend. I didn't want that. I never wanted that. Now I'm not saying that I'm some loser with no friends. I'm just not a rich girl with a huge house and only designer clothes. That's what basically decides how popular you are at my school. See, my neighbor is mostly modest houses but lately they've been remodeling houses so that they're bigger. Jace lived in one of the remodeled house which is why he was more popular than me.

I called Tori and told her what had happened. "Why don't you just go out with him already!" I shook my head.

"You know exactly why!"

"It shouldn't matter. I mean if you really like the guy."

"Ugh. Tori! I hate relationships!" She laughed.

"Isn't the 20th the weekend after next?!" She said suddenly.

"Yeah... Why?"

"Cause we need to figure out what you're going to wear!" We both started laughing and talked about what would be a cute outfit.

"You know I still haven't met your dad." I said to Jace at lunch. It was just the two of us at one of the picnic tables outside the cafeteria. Our friends Tori, Carson, Lynita, Ashley, and Tyler had gone to study at the library.

"Why don't you come over for dinner tonight?" he said right before be took a big bit of his chicken wrap.

"Sure but after that wrap I don't think you're going to have room for dinner." I said jokingly. He laughed and asked if I was going to finish my fries. I rolled my eyes at him and went to join everyone in the library.

"Wanna come over after school?" This came from Lynita. She was one of the only sophomores that I liked.

"I can't. I'm going to Jace's house for dinner."

"Is his brother going to be there?!" Lynita had developed a thing for Jace's younger brother Tony.

"You want me to ask?"

"No that would be weird!"

"Lynita and Tony sittin' in a tree-"

"Shut up!"

"You know you love me!" I laughed just as Ashley had joined in.

"K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" She had sung in Lynita's ear.

"I hate you guys!"

We all started laughing which ended in us getting kick out of the library. We walked out arm in arm still laughing.

Later that night I was getting ready for the dinner with Jace and his parents. I decided on a pair of nice jeans, an off the shoulder shirt with a panda on it, and some cute wedge heels. I had straighten my dark auburn hair and pinned it back with a bow. I was just finishing my make-up when there was a knock on the door. It was Jace who had come to pick me up.

"Wow..." He said after I had opened the door.

"I dress to impress." I said with a smile.

We walked to his house in mostly silence. It was starting to get chilly and I shivered when a gust of wind blew past us. I wrapped my arms around one of Jace's. Wow he had big muscles. He was definitely the athletic type. He's played football, baseball, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. When we got to his house he opened the door for me. As soon a I stepped inside I smelt something delicious.
