Before we begin, I know it's been a long time since I've updated. I've been working on rewriting the story making it a whole lot better than before. I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading!

Ophelia Malfoy's life was anything but ordinary. Being part of one of the wealthiest wizarding families and having a father who worked for the Ministry of Magic and served on the Board of Governors, even though he was stripped of his title as a Hogwarts school governor for threats against his eleven other colleagues in her second year, definitely set her apart. However, despite her family's status, Ophelia never really held her father in high regard as everyone else did.

She never had a fondness for him. He was always cold and treated her and her twin brother poorly. He imposed high expectations on them from a young age, making them feel worthless if they didn't meet those standards. As a result, one of them became easily influenced to seek their father's approval, while the other had to mature too quickly. Ophelia herself once yearned to make her father proud but eventually realized that nothing she did would ever earn his approval. It became clear that trying to please him was pointless.

Her mother, it seemed, cared more for her twin brother than Ophelia. Ophelia used to feel jealous, but over time, she realized that Draco needed their mother's attention more than she did. Even though she felt hurt at times, Ophelia chose not to show those feelings to avoid causing more problems. And she took in the small moments when her mother gave her that much-needed attention.

Draco and Ophelia had always shared a close bond. Besides Blaise Zabini, Draco was the only person Ophelia confided in completely. They were inseparable, always together and rarely apart. They found pleasure in teasing their fellow students, particularly Harry Potter and his friends. Their deep disdain for Potter was akin to a game for them.

She loved her brother more than anything and would go to great lengths for him. However, she despised it whenever Draco coerced her into doing things against her will. Ophelia often yearned for some rest and enjoyment, but her brother would consistently whisk her away, thrusting her into fights, usually against Harry Potter or Ron Weasley.

"We got our school list," Draco exclaimed, barging in, as he often did, interrupting Ophelia's quiet moment.

"How many times do I have to tell you--knock!" Ophelia said annoyed.

"Oh, come off it, we've made prefect," Draco said, tossing Ophelia a small badge with the words 'Prefect' in silver.

Ophelia scoffed feeling a sense of pride. "Pansy is not going to be happy about this," she smirked, admiring the green badge.

"She'll probably say something backhanded," Draco laughed, sitting down at the edge of Ophelia's bed.

Ophelia chuckled in agreement. It seemed that Pansy had developed a peculiar rivalry with her. They had been close friends in their childhood, but when they entered Hogwarts, Pansy's demeanor towards Ophelia changed. Her words carried a hidden nastiness. Ophelia tried to understand the reason behind Pansy's switch, but eventually, she gave up and started returning the same backhanded compliments.

"I can't wait to see the stupid look on Potter's face when he sees we're Prefects," Draco smirked.

She smiled and brought her black cat, Nutmeg, onto the bed with her. "I won't be surprised if Dumbledore made him Prefect. His favorite little puppet. He can do no harm," Ophelia said mockingly. "Goodie two shoes," she sneered bitterly.

There was a time when Ophelia desired to befriend Harry Potter, but Draco had ruined that opportunity for her. Although she tries to convince herself that it doesn't bother her, deep inside, she harbors resentment towards him.
