The five descendants are in the kitchen, Cora sits on the floor playing with Duke while the others are making a batch of cookies.

"Why are we making C-words again?" Jay asked.

"They're for the love spell remember."

"Uhuh, and we need one because?"

Mal glared at Jay, "Evie found out that the wand will be used during the coronation."

"And to get close enough to grab the wand we have to be right at the front."

"Ben said only his parents and his girlfriend will be at the front and there are two of you." Carlos tilted his head in confusion.

Mal and Evie look at each other as they stir the cookie dough having a silent conversation with just their eyes.

"We'll handle it don't worry."

Carlos and Jay aren't very reassured by Evie's words, but Mal moves on anyway.

"All right. It says that we still need one tear, and I never cry."

"Let's just chop up some onions."

"No. It says that we need one tear of human sadness. And this love potion gets the best so we have to follow it exactly."

"A tear's a tear," Jay argues.

"That's not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear."

"Listen to you." Mal smiles proudly and gives Evie a quick peck on the lips.

"Yeah, I knew that."

"Did not."

"Yeah, I did."

Lonnie, Mulan's daughter enters the room stopping the boys before they can really start fighting. "There you are Mal, Evie! I was looking for you. You know, all the girls want you two to give them makeovers!"

The Vk's smile trying not to bring attention to the ingredients they have laid out.

"Midnight snack, huh? What are you guys making?"

"Nothing special. Just, no, no!"

"Wait!"

The group shouts as Lonnie dips her finger in the cookie dough and has a taste.

"What? I'm not gonna double dip."

"Feel anything?" Evie asks tentatively.

"Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?"

"It could use some chips."

"Chips?"

"And those are..." Mal asked.

"Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group." She grabs a bowl of chocolate chips from the fridge and sets it in front of Evie and Mal. "Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys, like, chocolate chip cookies?"

Lonnie sees them looking at her like she was crazy and tried to explain. "Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and... why are you all looking at me like that?"
