I don't slow down until I'm safe in my second period, AP Physiology. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as I sit into my usual seat next to my best friend, Peter. "Dude, why are you so out of breath?" He asks as he shoves a handful of chips into his mouth. "You will never guess who I got "

paired up to work with in history."

"Who?" He replies while dumping the last of the chips into his mouth.

"Alexis Greenway."

"No fucking way!! She's so fucking hot!!! Did you talk to her?"

"No, I acted like a total numb nut. She would speak to me, and all I could do was shrug. But, she did give me her number."

"Dude, are you gonna get some? You know she'll put out for just about anybody."

"You know how I feel about her, it's not about sex when it comes to her."

He opens his mouth to say more, but I'm saved by the arrival of Ms.Mitchell. I spend the whole class daydreaming about Alexis. I wonder what she's doing. I wonder if she'll like working with me on the project. I think about the first time I ever laid eyes on the perfection that's Alexis Greenway. It was the first day of freshman year. I was sitting in English class drawing on the inside cover of my notebook when I heard a yelp from the front of the classroom. I looked up to see a short, blue haired girl picking her books and papers off the floor. She was wearing black skinny jeans, red flats, and a white tanktop. She had on red lipstick with a red and white polka dot scarf tied in her hair. She had on gold hoops and a gold heart shaped locket that she kept tugging on. I stood up and helped her pick up her stuff. She looked up at me with her big brown eyes, and I knew I was done for. She smiled, flashing me her straight white teeth, and thanked me. I transferred into Honors English the next week, and the only time I saw her was in the halls, holding hands with whatever guy she was dating at the time. I knew I was hooked the minute she flashed her devilish little grin at me, and now she's my project partner. This could either go really right, or horribly wrong.
