Hmmmmm, Evan. This should be interesting. I glance over at him again. He's digging in his bag. He's cute in an awkward sort of way, which I've always liked. Ive always had the slightest crush on Evan, but I'd never let it grow into anything more. He'd never be into a girl like me. He probably likes fresh faced, preppy girls with perky little ponytails and perfectly pressed skirts. I'm not that type of girl in any shape, form, or fashion. I'm a hot mess compared to the type of girl Evan deserves, so I've always decided to have as little contact as possible with him. It was always easy since he takes all honors and AP classes, and I'm only in honors history and honors English. This is the first year we've had any classes together, and I've been able to successfully avoid him.....until now, that is. After Mr.Morgan finishes reading off the pairs, I turn to Evan and smile. I tear out a blank sheet of paper from my notebook, and scribble down my name and number. "Here's my cell number, just in case we see a " wonder" and the other person isn't around. " He looks at me for a moment, takes my number, and silently puts it into his phone. "So," I begin cheerfully, "what should be our first wonder?" He shrugs without looking up from what he's writing in his notebook. I open my mouth to ask for his number when the bell rings. He's shoots out of his seat like a rocket, snatches up his stuff, and flies out the classroom. "This is going to be one long project." I think as I sigh to myself.
