Eda sat at the kitchen table, leg propped on the stool next to her as she listlessly stirred her tea; Raine had insisted that she drink something that actually had some water content in it, instead of her usual apple blood.

At the time, she wanted to protest, but one look from the bard and now here she was, drinking lukewarm leaf water.

"Gross." She thought, yet took another sip.

Diverting her attention away from the dirt water in her mug, Eda trailed her eyes up to the stove where Raine was standing, likely getting a head start on dinner for that evening.

Eda always thought Raine was gorgeous, but right now, standing relaxed at the stove while sunlight streamed in through the nearby window, casting an almost ethereal glow around the kitchen and reflecting softly off of their skin; Eda had no words for how beautiful they looked.

As if they could sense her looking at them, Raine clicked off the stove and set down the wooden spoon they were using; turning to meet Eda's gaze with a smirk.

"I could feel you staring, you know," They said, sliding onto the bench across from her, "Like what you see?" They raised an eyebrow and gestured to the oversized Bad Girl Coven shirt they were wearing.

Eda scoffed, "As if," she said, "It's not like I married you or anything," she couldn't help but smile as she dropped her gaze to the ring on their left hand.

Raine had to hold back a laugh, "Do you have a crush on me or something, Calamity?" They returned her smile, eyes bright.

"And what if I do?" She retorted, gold fang glinting in the light, "I know you have a crush on me too."

Raine laughed then, an incredibly melodic sound to Eda's ears, "You've got me there," They gently took her hand, peppering light kisses over her knuckles, "I love you."

Eda's heart swelled, the tips of her ears taking on a pinkish hue, "I love you too, dingus." She replied, sitting up to kneel on her stool, cupping their cheek in her hand, "So much," she murmured before planting her lips on theirs. Raine closed their eyes and hummed into the kiss, tenderly reciprocating her affections.

"Gross!" Both Eda and Raine's eyes snapped open at the sudden interjection of a third voice into the room, "That's the third time this week, mom." King scowled, but Eda could hear the playful undertone in his accusation and saw the smile on his face as Raine scooped him into their arms, laughing heartily.

"How about some breakfast to make up for it, hm?" They asked King, "Pancakes, perhaps?"

King gasped in excitement as Raine walked both of them to the stove, probably getting ready to explain the many intricacies of the pancake-making process.

Eda smiled softly and sat back on her stool, content to watch her son and spouse perform their adorable antics for the rest of the morning.
