Fiddlesticks did not think of herself as a particularly needy palisman. After being hidden away for so long, it was nice to have some attention and company. However, despite the fact that she is definitely not attention seeking, she was still quite offended at the large, locked doors in front of her.
Moments ago, her witch and their beau had entered the room and shut the door before she could slip inside; it's almost like they were tired of her following them around all day and biting their shoes.
Fiddlesticks dismissed that idea with a dramatic toss of her head; chewing on shoes was thoughtful and charismatic, her witch probably appreciated it a great deal.
She was about to start barking—her vocal talents were impeccable, Camila told her she screamed like a vixen, whatever that was—but was interrupted by the lock clicking on the inside of the door. Of course! Her witch hadn't meant to lock her out, they must have made a mistake. Fiddlesticks stood attentively, talk swishing back and forth, while the door creaked open.
She twisted her head to the side in confusion when the door only opened a few inches; soon, a pale hand pushed another palisman out the door before it clicked shut one again. Owlbert fluffed his feathers in annoyance and Fiddlesticks folded her ears back.
"Owl!" Fiddlesticks said, "Where are the witches?"
Owlbert squinted his eyes at the door in suspicion, "Fiddle does not want to know." He responded as an annoyed huff sounded from Fiddlesticks. That was something she had heard before.
"Like when witches were young?" She asked him, suddenly glad she did not break into the room.
Owlbert hooted in confirmation as he took flight, leisurely soaring down the stairwell so that Fiddlesticks could keep up.
Eager to distance herself from her witch's antics, Fiddlesticks bounded after Owlbert, playfully jumping up at him as he flew. He would sometimes stoop lower and then fly back up just to tease her, this was a game they had been playing ever since their witches were witchlets.
Eventually, Fiddlesticks settled into a trot as she followed Owlbert around the house, "What is Owl looking for?" She asked as they finally entered the living room.
Owlbert gracefully landed on the back of the couch, hopping down to land in the mess of blankets that covered the seat, "Witchlets are not home," he answered, burrowing into the covers, "No one to steal the couch."
Fiddlesticks placed her front paws on the edge of the couch, tail swishing as she watched Owlbert situate the blankets into a nest-like figure, "Owl is very smart," She told him, he trilled in response.
"Fiddle come up?" He asked her, and she jumped up beside him right away.
Ducking her head into the blanket cave that Owlbert had excavated, Fiddlesticks quietly situated herself and laid behind her friend as he began to preen his feathers. The two were grateful for the nap; they knew that the witchlets would be home in a few hours to bring chaos back to the house, and hopefully their witches would be done with the escapade by then. For now though, all was quiet.
Well. Mostly quiet.
